Job Summary:

In this role you will serve as a bridge between technology teams and the business, and focus on analyzing, documenting, and validating business needs in relation to system functionality. You will have a strong understanding of the issues and competing priorities of the business. You will be an expert in one or more business areas and understand how it fits into the enterprise. Responsibilities include translating business needs into functional system requirements; mapping existing system capabilities to business requirements; understanding current and future state system functionality and how the business leverages technology and key data points to meet its needs; and, as needed, supporting strategy definition, defining goals and requirements for programs and projects, and supporting continuous improvement in technology and processes.

You will develop, test, implement, and provide end-user training and support of a wide variety of the bank's division-specific systems and processes; serve as the business expert for the development, maintenance, training, regulatory compliance, and support of all processes; coordinate business unit efforts required for project implementation and oversee all required implementation tasks to ensure business unit satisfaction; formulate and define complex systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements; perform complex projects to assess business needs and recommend technical solutions; provide technical guidance to colleagues; works on problems where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors; exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

The Business Analyst will provide analysis of existing/future business processes in support of change management initiatives and/or infrastructure and process enhancements of Global Market Systems or processes for regulatory mandates, technology replacements/upgrades, or to meet business growth and consolidation objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Implement support of a wide variety of the bank's division-specific systems and processes

  • Support all processes related to systems

  • Perform system administrative, configuration, and reporting functions

  • Run database queries or create reports in support of management information needs

  • Formulate and define moderately complex systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements

  • Perform fewer complex projects to assess business needs and recommend technical solutions

  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues

  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors

  • Lead others to assign, coach, and deliver the project delivery life cycle, completing required outputs

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • College graduate, Degree in related field (Finance or MIS)

  • MBA or relevant Master's degree preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 5-6 years' experience as Business Analyst

  • FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Book) experience is desirable including knowledge of Basel Committee on Banking Supervision Capital Rules as well as solutions implemented for monitoring and adherence

  • Experience in the banking or finance industries with exposure to derivatives products (FX, Interest Rate Derivatives, Futures) preferred

  • Experience in Global Markets financial services with focus on Market Risk Management and/or Risk modelling an/or knowledge of regulatory requirement of institutional banking/trading highly desired

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong Office 365 and presentation skills

  • Effective use of collaboration tools

  • Proven ability to solicit, define, and deliver business requirements

  • Experience working in a systematic project management delivery process

  • Experience defining creative solutions to meet business needs.

  • Experience delivering complex projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible.

  • Ability to work independently or within a team for problem resolution
