Experienced Engineering Manager to join our Transformation Technology team to lead Data Sourcing & Ingestion capability team focused on collecting data from a rich set of data sources into Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). Build and enhance standard solutions that provide efficient and scalable ETL/ELT solutions from multiple data sources. Partner with data providers across organizations to drive automation of data feeds including event driven systems and micro services and API orchestration.
Lead the effort for building and migrating the complex ETL/EDI pipelines from on premise system to cloud
Develop and implement Data Engineering strategy to support organizational initiatives.
Manages and leads the Data Engineering Team (Pipeline) team
Provides leadership, mentorship to internal data Engineering staff
Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including data collection, ground truth generation, normalization and transformation
Extract and combine data from various heterogeneous data sources
Communicate with business partners, software vendors, and internal departments
Seek ownership of projects with the demonstrated ability to deliver results
Participate in project meetings, providing input to project plans and providing status updates
Partner with IT, data architecture and other teams on the administration and monitoring of all data pipelines to ensure data is properly transported, controlled, harmonized, and is secure (PII management)
Ensure data loads meet SLA and manage proper data availability communication
Performance tuning and optimization of all data ingestion and data integration processes, including data platform and databases
Work cross-functionally with various teams and stakeholders to resolve data issues
Participate in building out new Data Lake, expanding and optimizing the data ecosystem, as well as optimizing data engineering processes
Establish code and pre-prod review to ensure data build and delivery architecture is efficient and consistent throughout ongoing projects
Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent with 15 years of experience in enterprise data projects, with at least 5 years of experience architecting and building data ingestions and data integration solutions for Enterprise Data Warehouses or Platforms in Financial Services sector.
10 years of experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Wherescape, other related tools & technologies) with a good understanding of data architectures, data dictionaries and data lineage.
8 years of experience leading development and support of Enterprise Data Warehouse or Data Lake Architectures and leading large-scale data integration projects
8 years of experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, batch and API based ingestion pipelines, and processing of large data sets from heterogeneous sources
10 years of expertise in relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, SqlServer
3 years of experience in Metadata Management and Data Governance
Experience with event-driven technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ) is preferred
Familiarity with AWS, Redshift, Hadoop-based technologies (HDInsight, Spark, Hive, Pig, etc.) preferred
Familiarity with Micro services and scalable object-oriented RESTFUL web services is a plus
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures and to connect and engage with colleagues at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated change agility to successfully manage a high degree of complexity and multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, coordination, documentation, analytical, problem solving, leadership, and time management skills.
