Job Summary:

Partner with Consumer Lending Marketing Strategy and Line of Business teams to design and deliver direct marketing programs to support business goals and strategic initiatives for the Bank. Develop, implement, and manage direct marketing programs that drive new customer acquisition, ongoing customer engagement and retention. Provide strategic recommendation on the design and evolution of programs to meet business objectives and contribute to the evaluation of the performance of campaigns.

Location:

  • Position can be temporarily remote due to COVID conditions.However, applicant must currently reside, or plan to reside within 6 months of acceptance of job offer, in one of the following metro area locations: Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Dallas, Phoenix, Seattle,Portland or Charlotte and have the ability to go into the office.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Marketing Strategy and Line of Business to help define, manage, and deliver key direct marketing initiatives and business goals.Provide channel specific leadership on direct marketing strategies, industry best practices, and programs.

  • Design and implement impactful direct marketing programs, including collaborating on the direct mail design, test plans, mail matrix development, print production, cost management, and quality control while complying with risk and Union Bank and PurePoint Financial brand standards.

  • Oversee creative development and creative schedule with agency partners based on input from Marketing, Business, and Regulatory partners.Ensure all assets meet print production standards and requirements for mailing and tightly manage production costs to align costs with industry best in class.

  • Contribute to audience targeting and prospect/client segmentation activities.Partner with the Business, Database, and Production teams to ensure all data is captured appropriately to meet the requirements of the campaign criteria, mapping of variable copy logic, ensure secure transfer of data, and perform pre-production data validation.

  • Oversees the transfer of creative assets to the print shop and performs pre-production audits of letter, self-mailer, and insert quality.

  • Coordinates all efforts with multiple internal groups and external vendors.Monitors progress and makes recommendations on workflow and timeliness to achieve completion of approved marketing programs in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner.

  • Provide direct marketing best practices and contribute to test and learn strategies for direct marketing campaigns, as well as the evaluation and reporting of campaign performance.

  • Manage external agencies and vendors in support of direct marketing campaigns. Oversee campaign calendar and communicate with internal stakeholders regarding scope, timing and costs.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of industry competition, market share, market conditions, prior campaign performance, issues or constraints, and legal/compliance requirements.Participate in prospect or client focused research efforts as appropriate.Leverage analyses to maximize future campaign effectiveness and Marketing return on investment.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of 7 or more years of professional marketing experience with significant experience with consumer credit product marketing (i.e., personal loans, credit card, auto lending, mortgage, home equity) primarily in an acquisition and/or portfolio build environment strongly preferred.

  • Experience with integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns with significant emphasis on direct mail creative development and implementation is preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience across prospecting and customer deepening strategies, customer databases, credit bureau pre-screen process, data processing, direct mail production, as well as experience in vendor management (marketing agencies and letter shops) is highly desirable.

  • Background that includes direct marketing test and learn strategies, target audience selection, customer segmentation is a plus.

  • Experience in navigating and managing internal business partners, external agencies, & production houses with effective communication and relationships building.

  • Familiarity with large corporate marketing team environments, large distributed retail networks (200 stores/branches), and large call center support teams (500 representatives) preferred.

  • Agency experience is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to work independently to plan and manage a complex project portfolio in a matrix organization

  • Strong understanding of quantitative data analysis and an analytical mindset.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and techniques
