• Analyze and translate business requirements into long-term data modeling designs and solutions

• Work with business analyst and development teams to create conceptual, logical, and physical data models and data flow

• Define and govern best practices and standards for data modeling to ensure consistency within the system; set standards for documentation, lifecycle, and retention

• Review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility

• Design and Implement data strategies and develop physical data models

• Troubleshoot and optimize data structures

• Act as SME to champion the use of data management techniques in systems development

• Lead, mentor, and train individuals involved in data related activities


• 8-12+ years of technology experience required

• 6-8+ years experience in data architecture and data analysis with specific concentrations in data modeling in online transaction processing (OLTP), consolidation stores, dimensional stores, data vault, and canonical designs with an enterprise level focus.

• Banking or financial services experience required. Heavy concentration in brokerage, wealth management, or insurance would be considered.

• Experienced in complex large-scale data warehouse projects, data integration projects, and/or dimensional mart projects. (6+ years)

• Subject matter expert (SME) knowledge in the banking domain - advanced

• Conduct trainings and knowledge sharing sessions - advanced

• Lead, mentor, train, and guide other data modeling team members - advanced

• Ensure best practices, standards, processes and procedures are followed - advanced

• Expertise in leading, designing, implementing, supporting, and documenting data architecture and data models (OLTP, consolidation stores, dimensional stores, data vault, and canonical) solutions for enterprise data warehouse and enterprise data marts (10 + years) - advanced

• Expertise in advanced SQL for databases such as DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, GreenPlum (8+ years) - advanced

• Expertise in advanced data modeling tools such as ERStudio and Erwin (6+ years)

• Agile, waterfall, and iterative methodologies (4+ years)

• Data quality and metadata (5+ years)

• Exposure to big data & cloud technologies, NoSQL databases, AWS, etc., is a plus

• Master Data Management (MDM) experience is a plus

• Demonstrated experience with data architecture on:

• Large scale projects

• Working with enterprise data structures and multiple teams

• Translating/mapping data requirements into relational data or canonical data models

• Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, and time management skills

• Motivated to work independently

• Proven leadership and coordination skills


• Bachelors’ degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. Related advanced degree or alternate studies is a plus.
