Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk Reporting and Analytics the Vice President (VP) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining processes, analytics, and reporting to support the Operational Risk Program holistically. Specifically, the VP is responsible for analyzing data, identifying broad operational risk management trends, and enabling high value reporting for the ORM program. The ideal candidate should be familiar with financial institutions and the regulatory landscape, have a strong understanding of operational risk management and risk governance, policy and framework topics and possess strong writing and analytical skills.
Lead design and implementation of analytics and reporting to support the execution of operational risk management frameworks across the First and Second Lines of Defenses and Legal Entities.
Continue to enhance and develop operational risk key risk metrics and develop innovative approaches for using the metrics for purposes of reporting and monitoring operational risk.
Creates probabilistic “what-if” scenarios to provide leadership with different options for remediation.
Manages programs and projects by building consensus across different groups, identifying key risks and formulating solutions.
Coordinates with Senior stakeholders to develop key operational risk reporting.
Performs independent review and challenge of front-line unit risk report content based on their own analysis.
Analyzes and reports on aggregate risk information to senior management.
Determines critical information risk themes and escalates to senior management to drive risk reduction.
Develops new risk programs and socializes value proposition across the organization.
Support Audit and or Regulatory requests including submission of requested documentation/information in a complete and timely manner.
Stay abreast of emerging regulatory and industry developments in enterprise and operational risk management to ensure new and best practices are implemented.
Master's Degree Preferred; Bachelor's Degree and equivalent work experience required
10 years of related experience
Proven knowledge of enterprise and operational risk management analytics and reporting
Experienced in operational risk tools and technologies and producing reports for risk management
Experience conducting risk assessments and risk remediation projects in large scale organizations
Knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulations / laws
Understanding of operational risk assessment processes including RCSA, including the identification and measurement of operational risks and mitigating controls
Knowledge of risk management policies, methods, standards, processes, governance models, and industry standard risk analysis approaches
Strong oral / written communication skills
Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Good interpersonal skills to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across enterprise
Strong work commitment and works well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
