Senior Business Analyst Manager - Operations Downstream
The risk and accounting team specifically acts as the bridge between downstream business partners, operations and technology, specifically supporting core operational processing, transaction banking product related concepts, and downstream stakeholders dependent on wires data. This role will provide direct support to MUFG Union Bank operations team and the surrounding business partners in Accounting, Credit Risk, and Market risk groups. As a senior business analyst lead, you will be responsible for managing IT Project roadmaps related to operations, leading user deliverables throughout the software development lifecycle, and cross functionally managing the impacts to upstream and downstream stakeholders as it related to operation system and process changes.
In addition to leading the U.S. domestic system projects, this role will partner other members in business solutions (Deposit, Loans, Treasury, etc.) to cross support other projects in flight from a downstream perspective
Develop and maintain a roadmap of accounting and risk related projects and processing changes related to financial management of Americas area, specifically driving IT review conversations with technology partners and downstream users as necessary
Serve as the lead on multiple projects, specifically leading efforts related to workflow analysis, requirements creation, design review, solution confirmation, user test planning, system migration planning, and implementation management
Coordinate critical project deliverables for respective scope across related core banking downstream users
Create resource capacity models related to project and production support related tasks, to ensure appropriate resource estimations, project budgeting, and capacity modeling is conducted, in order to avoid constraints and resource contentions throughout project execution
Drive standardization in system and operation processing practices across multiple MUFG entities related to the strategic objectives of the operations leadership team
Manage production related issue resolution through proactive identification, impact analysis review, and remediation plan creation, ensuring clear visibility throughout entire lifecycle
Require Bachelor’s degree with specific focus on Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting
Prefer advanced degree in related IT or Business discipline (E.g. Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, etc.)
Prefer relevant certifications such as Business Analysis, PMP, CAPM, Agile Product Management, Treasury Professional, or other relevant certifications
Require 8-10 years’ experience in traditional corporate banking financial institution in the role of accounting project member, controller, financial analyst, or comparable business analysis role working with accounting related concepts
Prefer prior experience working in a consulting capacity, servicing the financial service industry in the area of financial or managerial reporting.
Require prior experience working with various types of GL/FA/AP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft etc.
Require prior experience driving or participating in large IT project management within a user capacity, specifically executing on requirements creation, design review, user test planning, and system migration/implementation
Strong organizational and communication skills to accurately translate bi-directionally between operations and line of business
Track record working in matrix organization and ability to horizontally and vertically cut across the organization to deliver on well-rounded and quality driven deliverables
Willingness and flexibility to meet tight deadlines, and high level of emotional intelligence to appropriate create deliverables that deliver a consolidated voice of all stakeholders
Prior experience working with various development collaboration tools, such as HPQC, Jira, Confluence, MS project, and more
