MUFG continues to expand its footprint within Supply Chain Finance market via various product offerings. The tech-based business and financing solutions offered to our clients help improve: access to liquidity, management of payment terms and working capital. The determination of MUFG to become a top tier provider in this space has been reinforced last year when MUFG acquired proprietary trade payable software and is in the midst of robust integration activities. MUFG is looking to further expand the capabilities of this software to increase revenue through buyer led, supplier led, and investment distribution channels.
Operations & Technology for the Americas (OTA) plays a major role in MUFG’s transformation to become the world’s most trusted financial group. Its 3,700 colleagues specialize in process engineering, software development, enterprise information management, technology operations, operational risk management, and project management. The goal is to deliver superior solutions to our stakeholders at the quality they define and to be, above all, trusted stewards of the bank's computing assets and processes.
The Supply Chain Finance Operations team reports to the Head of Operations and plays a pivotal role in supporting the business expansion. The processes are undergoing continuous changes due to increased business requirements as well as various in-flight projects looking to provide solutions for scalability of this voluminous business. The operations team partners with various stakeholders within OTA such as: Business Information Tech, Business Solutions, Quality Center of Excellence and many others to develop a sustainable operating model that best supports business and client needs.
We are looking to hire an experienced Operations Initiatives Manager to oversee all supply chain finance business initiatives from Operational perspective and to meet and keep in stride with business growth ambition. The role will be responsible for championing and representing Operations interests amongst various strategic initiatives and projects pertaining to Supply Chain Finance Operations. You will need to balance integration, operations stabilization, transition from Project to BAU and product implementations accordingly, and ensure appropriate prioritization training and system access. You will work closely with management to keep them abreast of all the ongoing initiatives and projects to best estimate resource needs and ensure operational readiness in support of the business.
The incumbent has to be experienced, goal driven and expected to hit the ground running. This role would provide a much needed buffer between front and back office and help facilitate bi-directional communication to provide expedited solution for operationalization of deals.
Specific roles and responsibilities will include:
Partner with key stakeholders to define our products/platforms and operating model and to build out a clear roadmap.
Update operation processes and procedures according to new product implementations and system changes, and develop end user training plans when appropriate.
Oversee user project activities, and develop project management routines to drive forward clear visibility and escalation.
Ability to interpret business requirements into operational impact and communicate to management effectively and timely in order to promote sustainable operational support of SCF Business in alignment with its expansion.
Develop and maintain clear transparent governance of all tasks related to meeting project goals.
Develop management reporting routines to keep senior leadership apprised of the progress, risk and issues.
Provide post implementation support to back office end users and lead critical issue identification, triage, and resolution as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree (MBA or Master’s degree with a specific focus on Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting a plus) preferred
6 years of experience in corporate banking operations preferred
Strong knowledge of Trade Finance and Supply Chain Financing products and operating models
Good understanding of corporate organization structure and proven record working with other teams and stakeholders to achieve goals and meet aggressive project deadlines.
Experience managing large-scale projects that span multiple years, various business units and cross borders
Strong Ability to develop partnerships, inspire colleagues and set a vision
Flexible in his/her work style, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels and influence key stakeholders
Self-motivated with high degree of initiative, innovative thinker with the ability to derive, formulate and develop new concepts processes and value added activities
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage many competing priorities and effectively work under pressure
Positive team orientated attitude
