Job Summary:

Reporting to the Retail Product Manager, you are responsible for the product development and revenue management for retail products (small business or consumer). Supporting retail bank growth strategy to acquire households and deepen relationships to build balances and optimize product profitability.

Major Responsibilities:

15% Developing product strategy. Use existing capabilities and identify product gaps based on high-reaching assessment and opportunities. Responsible for ensuring the product strategy is in line with the Retail Bank strategies. You'll work with business banking administration, commercial product managers, retail banking product managers, marketing, deposit operations and servicing.

60% Responsible for handling the existing product line and the development and launch of new products, features and functionality. You'll handle the revenue stream for assigned products used by retail customers. As well as handling the product profitability and developing tactics to improve profitability and performance through product design and pricing discipline. Measure and track the financial performance volumes against established goals and works closely with Retail Deposit Portfolio Management. Responsible for market research, analysis of competitor offerings and market drivers and ongoing assessment of internal strengths and weaknesses. Develop pricing recommendations. Ensure product development and improvements follow the bank's Product Development Policy (PDP) Responsibilities and Requirements. Figure out training gaps and lead efforts with Training to address needs. You have a key role in leading the IT systems development of new and enhancement of existing products. Has key responsibility in running the project from conception to implementation.

15% Responsible for working with the Marketing team to develop marketing plans for retail banking products (consumer or small business) to drive acquisition or retain existing households.

10% Use your project coordination activities with other product managers through the Bank for Product or Service adaptation for retail channel, new product or process changes for retail, training/communications, billing methods/processes/pricing schemes.


Additional Information:

  • Requires a minimum 5 years of work experience as a product manager or project manager in a financial services organization.

  • Direct work experience in developing and driving product initiatives from start to finish, from recommendation to post-rollout measurement.

  • Are your analytics skills strong? Your strategic and critical thinking and customer insight are a bonus.

  • Do you have effective team work, interpersonal and organizational skills?

  • A comprehensive understanding of product and project management practices. Confirmed ability to interact and influence executive management. Requires excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.

  • Requires computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

  • BA preferred. MBA is a plus.
