Job Summary:
Seeking Performance and Monitoring Engineer with strong background in IT Infrastructure Engineering, Performance for Compute, Cloud, Storage and Network. The Performance and Monitoring Engineer, VP would lead multiple capacity and performance projects from inception through completion, while adhering to scope, schedule, quality and budget for capacity and performance efforts.
This individual must possess strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills and must be comfortable working with technology and business partners across the organization in a collaborative way.
The individual in this role will be part of the Service Delivery Organization within Technology Information and Operations and will work with cross functional teams to deliver the infrastructure capacity, plan for capacity and performance management, and determine requirements to optimize deployments to private and public cloud.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Reporting for existing applications/systems and infrastructure
Application Performance Reporting (OpenShift and AWS platforms) , Trend analysis and Presentations to technical partners and business stakeholders.
Create automated solution for data collection and reporting | Hands on Experience with APIs and Programming language like Python is a must.
Monitoring Application Performance and end user experience and reporting SLA breaches in PRD. Submit RCA report and recommendations.
Management of APM tools leveraging Dynatrace:
Planning & Implementation of full stack monitoring, installations, upgrades and configuration leveraging Dynatrace oneAgent – hands on experience is a must.
Create Synthetic scripts in Dynatrace - must have skill set.
Creation of dashboards and reports
Alert set up and threshold management, integration with SNOW.
Documentation of best practices and maintain audit logs.
Good understanding of Application Performance Metrics and Alert thresholds.
Project Risk Analysis and Assessment, Documentation, Mitigation.
Perform 3rd level performance troubleshooting for applications/systems
Root cause analysis, heap-dump & thread dump and other log analysis, code profiling, web page profiling, end user transaction and packet tracing, event tracing, resource analysis.
Deep understanding of Application Performance metrics and key performance indicators of various tech stack (Web Sphere, OpenShift, AWS Services, Apache tomcat, JBoss, MQ)
Production Support - Analyze performance bottlenecks & Identify Root Cause in real time, identify tuning / optimization opportunities.
Application validation leveraging Dynatrace during PRD changes.
Responsible for Application Performance Tuning and Network Performance/Capacity Analysis
Application Performance Tuning and Optimization (Java, Jboss, Apache, .NET applications on OpenShift and AWS) in PRD and Non-PRD to ensure application scalability and SLAs are met
Rightsizing namespaces, pods and workloads on OpenShift platform
Rightsizing AWS services (EMR, RDS, EFS, EBS, EC2, RedShift, Lambda, Athena, etc.)
Assist Performance testing teams with scripting and workload analysis, production volumetrics, recommend various performance testing scenarios ( fit for purpose), review performance test results and provide tuning recommendations- Experience with Performance testing is a must.
Partner with AppDev and Architecture teams to review application design and architecture, understand sequence diagrams and application data / workflows.
Validate Performance testing scenarios2, test data, transaction volumes (should be PRD like) by comparing with PRD.
Experience with profiling tools like JProfiler, Yourkit for code profiling and Chrome Dev tools for WebPage profiling an added bonus.
Qualifications:
8 + years of experience
Application Monitoring: Dynatrace
Programming language: Python (Preferred), Java, JavaScript
Performance Testing / Engineering tools: Load Runner / JMeter
Code and Web Profiler tools: Chrome / IE Developer / Fiddler, JProifer / Your Kit
OS: Unix/Linux, Windows, AIX,
AWS Hands on working experience
Thorough knowledge and understanding of CloudWatch Performance and capacity related Metrics for various services like EMR, RDS, EFS, EBS, EC2, RedShift, Lambda, Athena, etc.)
OpenShift Platform – working experience
Strong Analytical Skills
Strong JVM insights and tuning capabilities
Application Capacity and Performance tuning skills ons:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
The typical base pay range for this role is between $137K - $170K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
