Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in P/L reporting, GL analysis, and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • P/L Reporting–Daily Flash and Official P/L reporting

  • Maintain production of daily P/L and market risk management reports

  • Perform a first level review and analysis of data for accuracy, completeness and validity of

  • Balances (Estimates)

  • Review and analyze final P/L reports data for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure timely and accurate production of regular reporting.

  • Daily General Ledger Reconciliation – Responsible for reconciliation of P&L balances against the General ledger

  • Perform reconciliation of sub-ledger to general ledger uploads.

  • Perform analysis of valuation breaks as they relate to resolution of identified discrepancies

  • Generate report outputs for distribution to supported departments as required

  • Ensure timely and accurate production of regular reporting.

  • Monitor EOD processing: Monitoring for accurate and timely delivery of data across multiple front and back office systems.

  • Ensure that file transfers and system jobs are performed in a timely manner

  • Understand internal infrastructure to monitor and coordinate timely execution of recovery processes to ensure EOD batch is accurate and complete.

  • Attend weekly meetings geared toward resolution of ongoing issues.

  • Customer Support (Internal as applicable):

  • Assist management with timely responses to requests from audit, front office, and comptrollers’ reconciliations.

  • Maintain liaison with the Front Desk, Back Office, Controllers, Auditors, Head Office and IT support on issues related to PL reporting as assigned

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

  • Perform other departmental tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

P&L Attribution explain/investigation

Be able to speak to/explain P&L values

Speak expertly in front of Senior Management when discussing P&L values

Fundamental knowledge of vanilla securities (i.e. bonds, Credit Default Swaps, etc).

Fundamental Microsoft Excel experience

Exposure to P&L reporting

Advanced knowledge of securities

Valuation knowledge

Microsoft Access knowledge

Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge (VBA, macros, etc).

Capable of independently performing complex or dynamic tasks, coordinating and analyzing data.

Excellent analytical skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate frequent interactions with persons both internal and external to the Bank.

Ability to recognize risks and make decisions based on sensory data or known guidelines.

Ability to comprehend and follow instructions (verbal, written or diagrammatic) with strong detail orientation.
