This is a remote position. The selected colleague will generally be expected to work at an MUFG office periodically. A member of our recruitment team will discuss location preferences with you in more detail.

Job Summary:

With your deep expertise and proven success using analytical thinking and iterative problem-solving, you have what it takes to strategically and tactically manage programs and processes. Whether balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders or making sound decisions using data, analysis, past experience, and a risk mindset, you will serve as a trusted advisor who routinely solves complex business problems and delivers against milestones. Major Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, enhance, design, and develop standards, polices, and procedures

  • Manage internal and external reviews, audits, inspections, and investigations relative to standards, policies, and procedures

  • Run compliance procedures and controls and recommend appropriate governance policies

  • Advise and collaborate with stakeholders on developing standards, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks and controlling weaknesses

  • Propose new or updated policies and procedures to promote compliance

  • Promote awareness of standards and governance to the various stakeholders and their respective business units

  • Work with internal teams to ensure risk management priorities are reflected in annual plans and initiatives

  • Measure and report on effectiveness of strategies, policies, and procedures for managing risks

  • Maintain inventory of mandated reporting and monitoring

  • Manage training plans related to standards and governance, including establishment of training curriculum, assignment, records management, and compliance monitoring and reporting


  • BA/BS degree from a 4-year college in a related field, or equivalent work experience - equally preferable.

  • Big 4 or top tier management consulting experience preferred but not required.

  • 6-8 years of experience within a large, highly matrixed organization with recent work related to standards and governance, process re-engineering, project management, and/or general process improvement

  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred

  • Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated experience interpreting and applying one or more recognized, related compliance and/or risk management regulations and frameworks to develop governance

  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience creating and/or administering a comprehensive governance/risk management program in accordance with regulatory requirements

  • Advanced systems knowledge with strong capabilities in Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel (including pivots tables and VLOOKUP)

  • Project Management experience is ideal

  • Ability to create and maintain metrics and department BI

  • Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization, and be viewed as a team player

  • Ability to be a business partner who can influence and garner support from cross-functional teammates

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong Office 365 and presentation skills

  • Effective use of collaboration tools, such as MS Teams and SharePoint

  • Access Database and SQL skills a plus

  • Understanding of regulatory environment and compliance concerns required

The typical base pay range for this role is between $125K - $150K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
