EMEA Internal Audit Office (EIA), as the Bank’s third Line of Defense, and in accordance with the Global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) International Standards (IIA Standards), provides independent assurance to the Board and Executive Management on the quality and effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls to monitor manage and mitigate key risks to achieving the Bank’s objectives.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Specifically, key responsibilities of the analyst –will include working with the Assistant Vice President’s, Vice President’s and Director and assist the team on the following:

  • Keen to learn aspects of audit engagements with under supervision and to the required methodology and Quality Assurance standards.

  • Develop knowledge in key areas of the FTRR Portfolio.

  • Assist in the effective ongoing monitoring of certain elements of the Finance, Treasury and Regulatory Reporting Portfolio (FTRR) portfolio.

  • Develop an appreciation of risk and control, acting as one the drivers for a successful risk and control culture.

  • Work collaboratively with Internal Audit colleagues.

  • Limited travel, when required to execute audits.

This is a great opportunity for an individual who is keen to develop, grow and learn from a team that is comprised of individuals who have worked in a number of GSIB’s.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Passion for learning and growth in areas such as Product Control, Regulatory reporting (COREP), Liquidity risk and Information Data Management.

  • Experience in Big 4 or another bank/financial institution such a fund manager.

  • Individual who wants to have a career in Investment Banking.

Preferred

  • Developing skills in using data analytics tools to examine/interrogate data (e.g. SQL, Business Objects, etc.)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Have a strong desire to develop and progress within audit.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written form.

Education / Qualifications

  • Graduate who has recently completed a distinguished degree in Finance, Accounting or Mathematics.

  • Studying towards a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA would be an advantage.

PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework. As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

  • The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.

  • The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour.

  • The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of Bank and Securities.

  • Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.

  • The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
