Overview of the Department/Section

The GCIB Strategy and Business Reporting team’s prime responsibility is the management of business-led strategic initiatives that impact the balance sheet or financial performance of GCIB as it executes its mandate across both Bank & Securities. Working as part of the wider GCIB Business Management function to ensure that GCIB within EMEA maintains its license to operate.

Main Purpose of the Role

Operate as a member of the GCIB Strategy & Business Reporting Team supporting GCIB Management in driving its strategy and delivering the financial targets set for EMEA GCIB.

This support will take many forms including strategic and operational activities across a multitude of business disciplines, and will include supporting B/S and Liquidity monitoring and forecasting, production of GCIB EMEA new business pipeline as a key focus.

Close liaison required with Finance & GCIB Front teams.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Development

  • As a member of the GCIB Business Management Team support the wider business, where necessary, in performing key administrative tasks in an efficient and responsive manner

  • Assist with delivering projects/initiatives for GCIB as required

  • Represent and support GCIB on various working groups as required.

Financial monitoring

  • Provide appropriate support to enable GCIB Management and the front offices in their delivery of the financial targets set for EMEA GCIB.

  • Assist Balance Sheet and Liquidity monitoring and forecasting (GALCO, IPU, Deposit WG etc) alongside processing / updating the GCIB EMEA new business pipelines.

  • Support includes data collection, production of reports (EMEA GALCO, Monthly GCIB meeting, etc) and other ad-hoc requests.

  • Ensure appropriate tools, processes and reports are in place to deliver timely and accurate forecasts to support GCIB FO teams in their business origination efforts and to support GCIB management driving the business strategy.

  • Propose and implement improved processes/reporting tools as appropriate in an effort to create efficiencies and improve quality of EMEA’s B/S monitoring and forecasting.

Global Collaboration

  • Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective interactive inter-departmental collaboration

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within MUFG both regionally and globally

Work Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience the financial industry ideally as part of a front office business function, middle office or Finance.

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to be persuasive in order to guide and influence resources over which the role has no direct control

  • Detail conscious, ensuring reliability at all times, and committed to producing high quality and professional work in a team environment

  • Ability to deal with people of all types and personalities at all levels

  • Good written communication – especially important due to the interaction with senior management

  • Good IT skills – particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Education / Qualifications:

Essential

  • Degree Level/or Business Management expertise

Preferred:

  • Relevant industry expertise
