OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION

The Securitised Products and SCF Group is the product office for Fund Finance in EMEA, with a dedicated Fund Finance team within the Group. MUFG is a prominent lender in the Fund Finance market with teams based in NY, Los Angles, Sydney, Singapore and London. Fund Finance is a key growth strategy in EMEA.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

MUFG Bank responsibilities:

  • Support the structuring and execution of Subscription Facility / Capital Call transactions for MUFG in EMEA.

  • Support the origination of new Subscription Facility/ capital call transactions with Head of Financial Sponsors & Head of Fund Finance and Product Development.

  • If required, provide support to the origination and execution of other SP&SCF products (including diversified pool securitisation receivables purchase, inventory finance and supply chain finance).

MUFG Securities responsibilities (as required):

  • Support team members in the development of NAV facilities and other asset level financing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MUFG Bank

  • Support the Fund Finance team in the structuring and execution of Subscription Facility / Capital Call transactions for MUFG in EMEA

  • The role will include the analysis of data, producing structural risk memoranda for submission to credit, cash flow modelling, and reviewing documentation with regard to new and existing transactions.

  • Liaising with clients, as well as external and internal counterparties.

  • Support the origination of Subscription Facilities with GCIB FIG clients including the preparation of marketing materials and presentations.

  • The origination activities will be co-ordinated with the FIG Sponsor Coverage team and the Fund Finance and Product Development and the structuring /execution.

  • Supporting the monitoring of Subscription Facility transactions in conjunction with the US Fund Finance team and credit department (SFCO/ECRO) and MUFG Head Office.

  • Liaise with clients at a counterpart level to relay specific information and respond to routine queries ensuring a high level of customer service.

  • Assist with the development of the Fund Finance product knowledge of other MUFG staff.

  • Liaise with internal counterparts throughout MUFG to gather relevant information to support decision making and planning.

  • Develop a knowledge base of regulatory issues relating to Subscription Facilities and developments in the Fund Finance market.

  • Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.

MUFG Securities:

  • Support team members in the development of NAV facilities and other asset level financing

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of MUFG’s technology, processes and approvals

  • Desirable but not essential to have experience of execution of Fund Finance - subscription facilities/capital call transactions

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • Legal, accounting or credit background desirable

  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills

  • Interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to work in a diverse team environment

  • Excellent knowledge and skill working with Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.

  • Fluency in German or French (and other European languages) desirable but not essential

  • Degree level educated or equivalent
