Trading Platforms department provides a service directly to the Front Office trading desks and other functions within MUFG to deliver strategic and tactical solutions to the business.

Direct Trading Platforms sits within the Trading Platforms pillar and supports the Vendor based trading platforms which are either cloud based or on site, this covers Market Data, Trade excecution, Trade Processing, Trade Booking as well as any platforms or infrastructure to support those key functions.

Main Purpose of the Role :

The purpose of the role is to provide first and second-line support to the Front Office Trading Platforms within MUFG SECURITIES EMEA and MUFG BANK.

The role faces business users from all aspects across the business such as traders/ middle office/ compliance - as such there is extensive opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of different areas of MUFG sales and trading and Technology.

Support BAU teams and business users.

Manage, maintain, support and develop the Direct Trading Platforms. Keep abreast of FinTech developments that will allow evolution of the platform to remain suitable as markets change

Ensure the Direct Trading Platforms meets agreed service standards, SLAs and KPIs. Additionally that the team adheres to the Technology & Security policies of the MUFG group

Knowledge management within the Direct Trading Platform team, ensuring that SME knowledge is shared across the DTP Engineering team to increase SME`s for each platform.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for support and development across MUFG’s banking arm and securities business under a dual-hat arrangement. Under this arrangement, you will act and make decisions on behalf of both the bank and the securities business, subject to the same remit and level of authority, and irrespective of the entity which employs you.

Platform Requirements

  • Deliver and Support reliable, robust, sustainable platforms to assist traders and sales teams with electronic trading ensuring trades STP in timely manor.

  • Utilise best practices within these platforms as defined by the wider financial industry

  • Evaluate changes to platforms as required due to evolution of markets, new FinTech opportunities and business requirements

  • Work with the Head of DTP to form and effectively communicate long term strategy within the platform, whilst maintaining clear short term priorities.

  • Support and co-ordinate changes to 20+ Trading and Market Data applications, notably Bloomberg, MarkitWire, MarketAxess and Tradeweb.

  • Maintain user access for 20+ aplications including book access and account privilages.

Governance

  • Ensure conformance with Testing, Compliance, Disaster Recovery, and other relevant requirements for these critical platforms

  • Ensure adherence with all EMEA IT Risk and Control procedures

Skills and Experience:

Essential

Strong Bloomberg TOMS experience and knowledge

Strong knowledge of FIX & MQ Protocol /Understanding of FIX and XML messages.

Strong problem solving skills: to work alongside Traders, developers and other teams to investigate / resolve issues

Able to communicate with technical peers, business users and management.

Able to produce clear and accurate system / procedure documentation .

Knowledge of Investment Banking; experience of working in a front office or back office tech role

To be able to work from Ropemaker office daily.

Desirable

Support Experience in FIX Trading System

Knowledge of eTrading, Trading Flow and Trading infrastructure.

At least 5 years direct experience of working with at least 2 of the following Bloomberg, MarketAxess, Tradeweb, Citifox, Markitwire or other similar systems.

Track record of reliably delivering changes and updates to vendor systems

A broad understanding of financial governance centered around MIFID, SFTR and Dodd-Frank

Excellent Microsoft Office skills including data manipulation in Excel
