MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Working as part of a small team of enterprise architects, govern the strategic architecture across Bank EMEA and the international Securities business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery

  • Define, implement and operate processes and controls to govern the firm’s enterprise architecture

  • Run the Architecture Review Board (ARB), leveraging SMEs from across the organisation

  • Work across all technology domains including application, infrastructure, data and security

  • Develop and maintain architectural assets to support decision making and requests for information including from the regulator

  • Conduct technical reviews of project designs, BAU changes, and other initiaitves that impact the technology architecture

  • Support development of the technology strategy in collaboration with the Technology Senior Management Team, tracking progress and providing accurate and frequent status updates

  • Produce regular and relevant MI and metrics,and use them to drive improvements

  • Monitor industry innovations and trends, and their application to MUFG

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure all activity fully complies with the appropriate policies, procedures and controls

  • Strict adherence to change management and privileged production access management processes

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Experience providing architectural solutions in a multi-entity, multi-regional financial services organisation

  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies

  • Extensive experience of conducting design reviews

  • Hands-on experience of architecture modelling and associated tooling (BizzDesign preferred)

  • Knowledge of the applications, services and processes used within a Financial Services organisation

  • Experience of desgning complex technology solutions in a regulated environment

  • Good understanding of software development practices, and project delivery lifecycles

Education / Qualifications

  • Degree educated or equivalent experience.

PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

  • The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.

  • The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour.

  • The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS.

  • Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.

  • The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
