Role and responsibilities of Treasury Department are;

  • Control liquidity risk: Control liquidity risk effectively in EMEA region and collaborate with regional offices to build robust framework for liquidity management

  • Control interest risk: Control interest risk effectively and properly in EMEA region

  • Customer support: Support customer-orientated business growth by providing an internal market in liquidity with competitive transfer pricing

  • Regulatory responsibilities: Ensure fair and prudent benchmark rates setting

  • Projects Management: contribute and manage projects to enhance treasury’s operation and capabilities in both EMEA regional and on global basis.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Liquidity management and money market dealing in wholesale markets. Enhance funding capability and contribute to global funding of MUFG Bank group Support corporate customer business promotion in EMEA Customer money market business execution, associated administration and report preparation. Deal administration and report preparation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute money market and deposit dealing under controlled supervision

  • Complete deal administration and report preparation

  • Enhance funding capability and contribute to global funding of MUFG group

  • Promote interbank and corporate deposit direct dealing and support Line of Business in EMEA

  • Communicate with offices in EMEA and support them to promote treasury business in an efficient manner

  • Liaise with Tokyo head office, each regional office in EMEA and other stakeholders to achieve efficient balance sheet management

  • Establish high level compliance standard within Treasury Department to fully satisfy both internal standards and regulators' requirements

  • As a functionally dual-hatted employee, develop treasury business on an entity-agnostic basis (For this responsibility reporting is to the same person as in the hiring entity who is also dual-hatted). The booking of transaction in MUFG Securities EMEA plc (MUSE) / dealing on account of MUSE are both excluded from your roles and responsibilities.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Executing or supporting money market business and liquidity management

Preferable

  • Global market related experience desirable but appropriate training will be provided

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

Essential

  • Fluent English language

  • Strong numerical skills

  • Microsoft Office, particularly Excel & VBA

  • High level communication skills and strong relationship management skill able to interact at regional and global level

Preferable

  • Technical competencies (Python, SQL etc) in order to support automation, MI enhancements and desk efficiencies.

Education / Qualifications:

Essential

  • 7 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths & English

  • A-Level standard or equivalent

Preferable:

  • Degree educated, Finance or related discipline.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability

  • A proactive, motivated approach.

  • The ability to operate with urgency and prioritise work accordingly

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

  • The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.

  • The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour.

  • The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS.

  • Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.

  • The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
