OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION
The Securitised Products and SCF Group is the product office for Fund Finance in EMEA, with a dedicated Fund Finance team within the Group. MUFG is a prominent lender in the Fund Finance market with teams based in NY, Los Angles, Sydney, Singapore and London. Fund Finance is a key growth strategy in EMEA.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
MUFG Bank responsibilities:
Leading the structuring and execution of Fund Finance – Subscription Facility/Capital Call transactions for MUFG in EMEA. Support the origination of new Subscription Facility/Capital Call transactions with the Head of Fund Finance & Product Development
Support team members in the development of NAV facilities and other asset level financing as required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
MUFG Bank
Lead the structuring and execution of Fund Finance Subscription Facilities (capital call) transactions for MUFG in EMEA including reviewing and negotiating of facility and fund documentation and liaising with the client, external and internal counterparties.
Self-confident and ability to deal directly with Financial Sponsors, Asset Managers and Fund / Lender legal counsel
Analyse and produce structural risk memoranda and reports including transaction modelling and rating in accordance with market standards and MUFG’s internal procedures/methodologies.
The origination activities will be co-ordinated with the FIG Sponsor Coverage team and the Head of Fund Finance & Product Development and the structuring /execution co-ordinated with the Head of Structuring, SP&SCF (if required).
Identify Subscription Facility opportunities from the MUFG client base and contribute to the regular marketing plan in conjunction with the FIG Sponsor Coverage team and Head of Fund Finance & Product Development.
Manage day to day client or counterparty interactions at a counterparty level to relay specific information and respond to routine queries ensuring a high level of customer service.
Act as the first point of contact for legal, technical and client related documentation issues, liaising with other stakeholders to seek resolution and / or escalating as required.
As lead structurer manage the deal team, allocate activities and provide coaching and guidance as required.
Identify and understand client needs in order to develop product solutions. Support new product developments in Fund Finance such as Net Asset Value (NAV) facilities in conjunction with Sponsor Coverage / Structured Solutions team
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate engagement and support to develop, secure and maximise product and deal opportunities.
Support the origination of SP&SCF products with Financial Sponsor clients
Assist with the development of knowledge of the Subscription Facility/Fund Finance product with SP&SCF team members and other MUFG staff.
Maintain and develop knowledge base of regulatory issues relating to Subscription Facilities/Fund Finance and developments in the Fund Finance market.
Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.
Provide guidance and review work of more junior colleagues to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
MUFG Securities (as required)
- Support team members in the development of NAV facilities and other asset level financing
Work in partnership with other parts of MUFG to deliver franchise and business growth.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3-5 year track record of drafting, structuring and executing Subscription Facility/Capital Call transactions in EMEA
Experience of Subscription Facility /Capital Call transactions
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Functional / Technical Competencies:
Legal Fund Finance experience desirable (3-5 years PQE)
Proven experience and interest working across Funds Finance, and a range of facilities
Commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to work in a diverse team environment
Knowledge and skill working with Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.
Fluency in German or French (and other European languages) desirable but not essential
Degree level educated or equivalent
