Support a dynamic and growing Specialized Industries, Corporate Advisory team in advising Union Bank corporate and financial sponsor clients on strategic, capital structure and other matters. Partner with Union Bank’s regional client coverage and financial sponsor teams by: pitching and executing financings (including acquisition financings, debt capital markets, bank debt and equity capital markets transactions); generating transactional ideas and client materials (including acquisition targets, sector dynamics and market conditions); providing updates on market conditions, valuation levels and other subjects of use and interest to clients; and providing analyses in support of internal decision making for such transactions.
Develop and oversee production of supporting analyses for financial sponsor, acquisition, debt capital markets and related financing.
Prepare and supervise development of client presentations and analyses on matters including strategy (potential acquisition targets, acquisition financing capacity) & capital structure (comparison of terms and conditions among capital market alternatives, market conditions, precedent transactions)
Prepare and supervise development of internal presentations and analyses on matters including transaction evaluation by credit partners and business decision makers of credit quality metrics in support of internal transaction approvals
Participate in client meetings and assist and support relationship managers in covering clients, targeting and developing prospects and presenting on corporate advisory matters
Prepare and supervise M&A analysis, detailed industry research and development and maintenance of databases to drive transactional ideas and source potential acquisitions for financial sponsor and corporate clients; present resulting ideas to clients, along with acquisition financing alternatives; support execution of resultant transactions as they are reviewed by both credit and business internal decision makers
Spearhead strategic business analysis and detailed industry research to develop understanding of relevant market and industry dynamics
Conduct and supervise financial analysis, including sum-of- the- parts, comparable transaction analysis. comparable company analysis, LBO models, intrinsic valuation (including DCF), other financial analyses to assess impact from M&A and related financing decisions as well as valuation levels
2+ years of investment banking experience analyzing and executing M&A, debt capital markets and/or financial sponsor transactions required
Ability to work independently and think creatively required
Bachelor’s degree (finance major not required); MBA a plus
Prior investment banking experience/training program desirable. Previous role in sponsor coverage, M&A, debt capital markets, acquisition or event financing or corporate advisory a plus
Series 79/63 preferred
