The Leasing & Asset Finance AVP coordinates with the client, the bank group, the branch and internal stakeholders such as Portfolio Management, Funding Desk, and Accounting Operations to support Leasing & Asset Finance’s (“L&AF”) agented transactions from an operational perspective.
Leasing & Asset Finance, a unit of MUFG, provides customized capital solutions for the acquisition or development of physical assets through debt, lease and equity investments or other structured finance products. Financed assets include renewable energy generation facilities, aircraft, railcars, industrial production lines, corporate campuses and sports facilities. MUFG’s Leasing & Asset Finance group provides innovative financial solutions to global Fortune 1000 companies including major technology, transportation, power and energy companies.
MUFG’s Leasing & Asset Finance group maintains offices in Los Angeles and New York and is part of a broader, global effort with offices in Tokyo, Sydney, London, and Singapore. MUFG is one of the largest financial institutions in the world and the largest bank in Japan.
Based in Los Angeles, associates within the group support the originations and portfolio management teams.
Responsible for performing financial and credit analysis on prospects and existing customers of MUFG across a variety of sectors including transportation, renewable energy, technology, and industrials
Performs financial analysis determining the economic, accounting, and tax results of a wide range of large ticket transactions, structures, and syndicated arrangements
Prepares and directs sensitivities for financial projections and projected cash flows
Conducts client research related to their financing needs and key performance indicators, industry trends, asset due diligence
Aids in the development of new financial products, focusing on the economic, accounting, and taxable income impact on both MUFG and our clients, which build upon MUFG’s existing suite of debt, partnership, and lease structures that support the financing of physical assets.
Leads in the preparation of marketing materials and presentations for client pitches and internal socialization
Minimum 4 years of financial institution experience, preferably with background in leasing, partnerships, project finance, and/or structured finance products
Strong critical thinking abilities, business writing and oral communication skills
Exceptional analytical abilities and financial modeling experience
Knowledgeable in complex transaction documentation
Experience with fundamental financial accounting and tax concepts
Well-organized, self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a demanding environment
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and ability to work well in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Bachelor’s Degree (Major in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or Economics a plus)
