Job Summary:

We're seeking a Small Business Relationship Manager to manage a portfolio of up to 300 existing small business clients. You will regularly contact existing customers to fully understand their businesses, goals, strategies, and challenges. You are responsible for the retention of your portfolio and generating new business from new and existing small business clients.

Major Responsibilities:

40% Client Retention and Cross-Selling:

  • Generate new product relationships, including demand deposit/operating accounts, cash management and payments services, business loans, lines of credit, commercial real estate loans, etc.

  • Identify new business opportunities to cross-sell, referring to commercial banking, consumer banking, private banking, wealth management, etc.

  • Develop marketing approaches for new business generation

  • Maintain an active pipeline and communities to retail branches and private banking partners.

  • Assess prospects' needs and financial status to provide credit and other product advice and recommendations.

60% Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and Client Experience:

  • Coordinates with Credit Center partners and various product specialists to deliver services to the client.

  • Monitor the credit relationship, maintain covenant compliance, and obtain updated financial information on the existing loan portfolio.

  • Document risk-based discussions with borrowers to recognize unfavorable trends and makes appropriate recommendations.

  • Complete all KYC, BSA documents and ensure customers are compliant with required regulatory documents.

  • Analyze business financial data and submits complete credit packages to the credit center for underwriting.

  • Communicate the application and credit decision process and act as a liaison between the credit center, other bank partners, and the client.

  • Negotiates terms, conditions, and pricing with customers to reach agreeable terms.

Qualifications

The right candidate will have:

  • 5 years experience in banking and customer service, including business/commercial lending

  • 5 years experience selling to a broad range of industries

  • Experience with cash management and trade finance

  • Proficiency a risk-based and relationship-based pricing model

  • Strong credit and underwriting skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and communication skills

  • Aptitude for reviewing financial documents and proficiency in accounting

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or Economics
