POSITION SUMMARY

The Issues Management Vice President, Audit Relationship Manager position is a key member of Internal Audit, aligned to the Regional Bank, Transaction Banking, Fund Services and Operations lines of business. It reports to a Director, Senior Audit Portfolio Manager. The position is for issues management of the assigned business areas. This includes supervision of the execution of assigned issues, including issue tracking, follow-up and remediation validation. The position is responsible for internal stakeholder management and the supervision of and accountability for the quality of and judgment calls in audit issues management work. We are searching for experienced Audit professionals with banking/financial services experience to join the Issue Management Team responsible for issue validation across multiple lines of business.

POSITION ATTRIBUTES

This position generally does not manage staff in a reporting line relationship but does manage staff on an engagement-by-engagement assignment basis. Travel is not required for the position.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Validate issues by evaluating effectiveness and sustainability of remediation of issues

  • Review and provide feedback on new issues with audit teams as they are being developed,

  • Review and provide feedback on issue closure package submissions with lines of business

  • Escalate to management risks to remediation timelines

  • Support management by generating various metrics reports for senior management and board level committees

  • Identify potential risk, including awareness of risks both within span of control as well as enterprise-wide

  • Report results in an effective and timely basis, leading to appropriate remedial action and ongoing management of risk

  • Maintain compliance with audit methodology, while also operating within industry best practices, applicable regulations, and internal and external professional practice expectations

  • Effectively manage stakeholder relationships to a mutually accountable, productive, respectful, and trusted level Act as a leader and role model and continuously improve self and department

Qualifications

  • Six or more years of internal or external audit or risk management experience, including management responsibility

  • Experience with the financial industry and related markets (e.g. Consumer Banking, Consumer Lending, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Commercial Loans, Trade Services, Payment Operations, Fund Services etc.)

  • Familiarity with US regulatory, compliance and governance

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple issues

  • Deep knowledge of issues management, including testing and evaluating processes and controls, risk assessment and audit methodology

  • Demonstrated proficiency in technology as required for assigned areas (MS Office, audit data analytics, etc.)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Outstanding communication skills; able to foster close and collaborative productive working relationships across the organization.

  • Strong work ethic, ability to make decisions and work under tight deadlines; achievement oriented and takes initiative

  • Relevant professional certifications a plus.

  • Compliant with MUFG Union Bank Code of Conduct, exhibits strong ethical behavior, and adheres to other similar professional requirements
