VP level IT Transformation Projects Lead is responsible for managing, directing, developing and implementing complex projects or programs to accomplish strategic goals and business objectives in support of multiple application systems in the Commercial Credit Accounting portfolio. These are primarily Commercial Credit Accounting applications such as Commercial Loans, Asset Based Lending, Commercial Leasing, Construction Financing, and others. These include real-time and event-driven systems, databases and database management systems, mainframe application systems, distributed, web based, and other system platforms in a multi-platform environment.
The IT Lead will use project management techniques to coordinate project effort towards the successful completion of the project(s). The IT Lead’s role is to effectively engage all required IT participants in all phases of project lifecycles and run projects within specified time frames, including use of Bank’s project methodologies. Successful completion implies that all impacted IT systems are identified and coordinated, all IT achievements are met and that the final deliverable(s) meets the business requirements and is within the allocated budget. The IT Lead tracks and supervises the activities of the assigned resources from all impacted IT and vendor/consultants to ensure the project goals are being met.
As an IT Lead, the role also functions as an internal consultant for applications development teams and provides internal consulting support to the entire team as well as other areas of the bank. The ideal candidate would have extensive technical expertise in Technical Project Management, Mainframe and Distributed Application technologies, Application Development, Systems Development Life Cycle, Change Management, and IT Controls processes.
This Position Reports to: Systems Manager
Formulates system scope and objectives, solution alternatives, and modifies procedures to solve problems. Recommends system improvements and develops plans to improve service.
Evaluates software and system problems and recommends system improvements, new applications and develops plans to improve service.
Conceives, prepares and presents and apply highly advanced technologies, principles, theories, and concepts to internal audiences.
Creates plans to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet customer expectations
Tracks key project landmarks, adjusting project plans or resources to meet objectives
Handles project budget to ensure maximum allotments are not exceeded
Oversees/conducts all project activities and supervises/creates and archives all project documentation
Delivers quality project documentation and deliverables and alignment to Bank's project methodology
Leads the execution of complex, multi-functional implementations or integrations, including Command Centers, issue management, communications, and executive reporting
Provides articulate and accurate reporting to the Project Sponsor, Steering Committee, Business Users, Audit and IT; creates presentations appropriate for audience
Handles Stakeholders and Customers
Negotiates business and IT resources for project allocation
Identify, mitigate, and reports project risks
Negotiates and implements resolutions that threaten cost, schedule or scope
Tracks all testing and issues and identifies those for partner concern
May lead multiple projects directly or through other project managers.
May lead larger programs with multiple project managers and workstreams.
8 years banking or equivalent consulting experience as project and/or application development manager with strong strategic management and planning expertise
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
Project Management experience managing projects using multiple development methodologies including Waterfall and Agile disciplines
Solid understanding of multiple Technology Infrastructure platforms including Mainframe, Distributed, Databases, Cloud and Vendor Hosted services.
Solid understanding and planning skills in all aspects of the system's/business project life-cycle, i.e., enhancements, user requirements, application configuration and usage using MS Project as the project planning tool.

Good Communication & Presentation Skills (makes complex issues accessible to business audience, clear, concise, and audience appropriate)
Excellence in analytical abilities, interpersonal relationships, and strong problem solving skills are a must.
Ability to run large project teams
Ability to lead resources both directly and via matrix management
Ability to follow Enterprise Program Management standards, documentation and reporting requirements
Aptitude to prioritize and analyze a list of measurable product or service characteristics along with associated target values
Validated relationship and influence management skills
Banking or Financial Services deep subject matter expertise and/or general technical skills highly desirable.
PMP Certification is a plus
Agile Scrum Master certification is a plus
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher, preferred.
