The Trade Services Operations (TSO) Transaction Banking Professional II position will be located in Monterey Park, California. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the TSO Control & Monitoring manager. You will act as the front-line of defense in monitoring daily Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) andAnti-Money Laundering (AML) related issues for Trade Service Operations. In this position, you will utilize your deep understanding of OFAC regulatory requirements as they relate to international Trade Finance products and documentation. Additionally, a deep understanding of Trade Finance products including, Import, Export, and Standby Letters of Credit, and International Collections is necessary.
You will be able to independently review Trade documentation to identify compliance issues and questionable activity; monitor and decision transactions routed as potential OFAC hits and regulatory violations; have a deep understanding of all regulatory requirements relating to Trade Finance products, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and Antiboycott. In order to be successful, you will be very detail orientated and a highly ambitious individual.
You will lead the team responsible for dispositioning Trade Finance transactions in the Trade360 and HotScan OFAC compliance queues. Ensure transactions are accurately dispositioned, within the established SLA.
You will assist in managing the daily activities of seven Compliance Analysts to ensure all daily AML-related tasks are completed accurately
You will supervise the development of, including recommending and implementing, cost effective compliance strategies, policies and procedures.
You will monitor and ensure compliance within the area of responsibility by being able to:
Detect deficiencies or violations of applicable laws and regulations
Bring compliance issues to the attention of the TSO Control & Monitoring Manager, TSO Sr. Manager, and the second line of defense, as appropriate.
Design and coordinate corrective action, as appropriate.
Ensure all compliance related procedures are maintained, and kept up to date.
Keep up-to-date on changes in federal and state compliance laws and regulations and ensure that line managers are adequately informed.
You will initiate and coordinate changes necessitated by new or revised laws and regulations impacting the area of responsibility, including changes in policy and procedural manuals.
You will assist the business unit and/or marketing in developing new products to ensure early recognition and resolution of compliance concerns prior to implementation.
You may assist with coordination of regulatory examinations by federal regulators, or other internal or external auditors.
You will have a minimum of four years of related experience in Trade Finance products, international products, or international operations.
You will have thorough working knowledge of Federal Regulations (OFA, AML, Anti-boycott), Internal Control principles, and/or Audit principles and techniques.
You will have well-developed communications skills, analytical and project management skills.
You will be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
