About the Role

Reporting to: Head – Strategic Planning Department

Location: Mumbai, India

Job Profile

Purpose of Role

Support the Head of REO and Head-SPD to implement the strategic planning process in all India branches including contributing and monitoring the progress of implementation of strategy and monitoring the implementation of new country initiatives. Responsible for providing guidance to the business on headcount, budget, Key Performance Indicators and resources within the country.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Support to develop the business model /strategy and formulate the bank wide business plan in pursuit of achieving all the expectations from various stakeholders for India. This needs close communication with Head Office and Regional Head Office Planning colleagues to align MUFG global strategy.

  • Support/ manage implementation of the key corporate wide strategic initiatives or support implementation of the initiatives for responsible divisions, playing a role of project manager, ensuring these are delivered on time within the set budget and that all planned business benefits are subsequently captured.

Financial

  • Support in monitoring the country’s budget to attain country’s BSC objectives

Customer

  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.

  • Work in partnership with various departments to contribute to proposed country initiatives, policies, systems, guidelines and frameworks.

  • Ensure the Strategic Planning Department is commercially focused and partner with the business in the country to provide practical and timely solutions

People

  • Act as a role model to team members and adhere to all company policies / guidelines.

Other/Control

  • Coordinate to organize the Bank’s Executive Committee ensuring adherence to regulatory expectations.

  • Support in framing and monitoring the country’s BSC objectives in close coordination with internal stakeholders

  • Review and provide inputs into reports and presentations prepared by the team. Reports include but not limited to expense reports, business performance and headcount reports.

  • Contribute to communication materials for Regional Executive and the management team for internal and external events.

  • Assess and develop country level policies to ensure alignment with all relevant regulations.

  • Develop departmental initiatives to drive process improvement / efficiency. Provide Subject Matter Expertise in relation to process improvement and risk mitigation.

  • Report to Head of Regional Executive Office regularly on opportunities/risks and recommend appropriate actions.

  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to management/leadership team on Regional Executive Office related topics.

Candidate Profile

  • Postgraduate (preferably MBA) from a leading university with at least 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role.

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills to collaborate with other departments.

  • Good analytical skills to interpret data and draft reports.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and administration experience desirable

  • Be a team player, with the ability to work independently and prioritise various work streams

  • A self-starter with drive, initiative and enthusiasm
