Job Summary:
First Line of Defense (FLoD) KYC Client Liaison Analyst is responsible for supporting Japanese Corporate Banking (JCB) clients in completing KYC by determining required documents and information, explaining KYC requirements to clients, collecting KYC information, responding to clients’ inquiries and validating KYC information for JCB. The Analyst ensures that all regulatory requirements and KYC standards are satisfied, managing time and workload and reprioritizing as necessary, to meet due dates and serve business requirements. The responsibilities also include supporting the division across the U.S. and serving as a key point of contact for KYC questions from all Relationship Managers (RMs) and other stakeholders.
Major Responsibilities:
Understand JCB customers’ businesses by obtaining and analyzing KYC information and documents, explaining to customers the background and context of KYC and MUFG standards through written and oral communication that exemplify courtesy and professionalism.
Respond to inquiries regarding KYC rules, regulatory requirements and due diligence with accuracy and speed, addressing and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Manage priorities utilizing Excel trackers and ensure KYC profiles’ completeness and consistency, through effective use of bank systems and applications.
Maintain full understanding of the Bank’s internal policies & procedures and products & services relevant to KYC, such as credit products, deposit products, transaction banking products, wire transfer and trade finance.
Perform other tasks and projects for JCB management and managers, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or professional certification required. CAMS certification preferred.
1 year of professional experience; U.S. and international banking experience, preferred.
Excellent English and Japanese written and verbal communications skills including ability to read complex regulations and explain them to customers in a simple, concise manner.
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products (Teams, etc.), including ability to use Excel functions such as VLOOKUP.
Adaptability to change and having firm understanding of procedures and operating manuals.
Customer-facing skills.
Logical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of CIP, CDD, EDD, SpDD processes and policies related to BSA/AML, OFAC, FinCEN regulatory requirements, preferred.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $66K - $85K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
