This is a hybrid position. You will work at an MUFG facility an average of one to three days per week, with the remainder being worked remotely. There are flexible work-from-home options available. A member of our recruitment team will discuss the options with you in more detail.

Responsible for conducting analysis on US economy and financial industry, identifying and evaluating economic trends and government policies, and formulating forecasts of future economic developments. Day-to-day focus is on economic data collection, depth analysis on economic condition, economic trends and government policies, where expertise is required. Role at this level usually has full ownership for one or more processes and reports, and may also be considered analytical or procedural experts representing Economic Research Office on cross-function process or project deliverables.
US Economy Analysis:
Support the US Chief Economist by providing economic information and analyses on US economy and government policies
Produces US macroeconomic reports and distributing them to the bank’s customers
Makes presentations on outlook for US economy for the bank and its customers
Exchange views with economists at other Wall Street firms
Analysis on US financial industry
Support the Financial Research team (Tokyo) by providing information and analyses on US financial industry (financial institution)
Conduct analysis on US financial industry and provides timely economic information for the bank’s executives
- Perform other duties and special assignments assigned by US Chief Economist and bank’s executives
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics or equivalent work experience required. Master in Economics /MBA / CFA preferred
5-7 years experience in US economy analysis and financial industry and understanding of macroeconomic, economic data analysis, economic trends and other relevant areas.
Strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking/thorough analysis skills
Strong financial aptitude and broad analytical ability.
Excellent oral and written communications skills in English including excellent business writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products, including nonbanking financial institutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
