This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.

Job Summary:

The Analysis group within FP&A sits at a uniquely visible spot in the organization, analyzing bank-wide financial data and preparing a variety of materials that often go straight to senior leadership. The adaptability of this team is key, as team members must not only understand line of business and enterprise-wide strategies and operations, but also proactively anticipate and respond to environmental shifts.

Within this group, the Financial Analyst produces and delivers meaningful, accurate, actionable, and timely financial analysis to managers at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to fully own and speak to critical deliverables involving monthly financial results & company-wide staff level forecasting. This analyst would develop strong relationships with business partners across the enterprise, drive process improvements and reporting accuracy, and execute ad-hoc analysis with confidence.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides comprehensive and complex financial analysis.

  • Prepares, supervises, and provides quality control in the preparation of complex analytical and financial reports and presentations.

  • Frequently interacts with the FP&A forecasting team and larger department.

  • Comfortable making presentations and distilling recommendations from large amounts of data.

  • Familiarity with the various financial applications within FP&A and has an understanding of the data relations and interdependencies.

  • Collaborates with controllers group to generate month-end close reporting comparing monthly results to forecasted and budgeted levels in summarized views for CFO and other senior leaders.

  • Oversees enterprise-wide workforce forecasting, working closely with line-of-business finance teams and HR to ensure forecast accuracy and make necessary overlays.

  • Coordinates the resolution of financial questions and issues.

  • Conducts and directs financial-based research and analysis projects.

  • Develops, interprets, and implements financial concepts for planning and control.

  • Able to work collaboratively across all FP&A teams, identifying best practices and process efficiencies.

  • May train/develop/provide guidance for junior team members.

  • May be additionally responsible for the following:

  • Produce monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports regarding trends, variances, profitability, and performance measurement.

  • Validate SEC filings and other externally reported figures with management reporting.

  • Financial modeling, graphing and reporting.

  • Analyze forecast results as well as historical actuals.

  • Generate/review and publish monthly reports with analysis.

Additional Information:

  • Bachelor's Degree required with 2+ years of experience; experience in Mgmt Accounting is a plus

  • Advanced Degree is a plus

  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of: Banking products & financial statements, Performance Measurement, the Bank's products, balance sheet, and income statement

  • Strong financial analytical skills

  • Strong presentation & written communication skills

  • Experience with financial software

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite: primarily Excel and PowerPoint; ability to model and create complex spreadsheets, look up tables, pivot tables; able to quickly organize large amounts of data into summarized reporting with the use of Excel formulas and excel-based automation (either formulas or macros)

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in data analysis and design, and data mapping

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently and independently with little supervision, and the desire to become the key subject-matter expert in assigned responsibilities

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under time pressure and handle multiple tasks/projects at the same time

  • Problem resolution experience requiring strong analytical skills, sound judgment and ability to work effectively with clients and technical staff

The typical base pay range for this role is between $80K - $95K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
