Vice President is an integral part of the Global Subsidiary Banking team (GSB) within Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) North America. The VP will act in the capacity of key support for the senior GSB Bankers, promote of global network businesses with multinational corporations (MNCs) in both outbound, from North America to Asia/EMEA, and inbound, from Asia (ex Japan) /EMEA to North America.
Work with senior GSB bankers and to expand the global network business with its clients’ subsidiaries in Asia/EMEA –
Develop and recommend solutions for clients’ international corporate finance problems, with the goal to secure for MUFG safe and profitable new business opportunities.
Lead global deal team activities by working closely with Global Relationship Management team (GRM) at GCIB North America, Subsidiary Relationship Managers (SRM) overseas, credit offices, and product offices. Analyze customer financial status to protect the Bank’s capital.
Promote a GCIB relationship management practice that delivers consistent, high level customer experience across the Bank’s entire global platform –
Provide guidance to SRM offices on credit and structuring matters as needed and instill the core values in line with the GSB’s risk acceptance.
Direct and supervise the development and maintenance of marketing materials and regulatory updates for GSB to enhance the Bank’s marketing activities.
Assist senior GSB banker(s) in business origination and marketing activities for the subsidiary clients from Asia (ex Japan) /EMEA in the North America –
Help senior bankers create business opportunities by analyzing the various financial and operational aspects of clients with the goal of determining their financing needs and structuring solutions to meet the clients’ needs.
Act as the secondary point of customer contact.
Liaise with GRM in Asia (ex Japan) and EMEA.
Coordinate with GCIB product partners in cross-sell activities.
Coordinate with middle and back office, Portfolio Management, and Legal in ensuring smooth execution of transactions.
Perform operational duties with regard to business origination process, including trouble shooting and problem solving.
Prepare pipeline reports, perform portfolio profitability analysis, and help develop other management tools to improve GSB business.
Assist Head of GSB North America in strategic planning
Conduct the periodical analysis on the GSB portfolio and global revenues for reporting to the GCIB senior management and to the GCIB Planning in Tokyo
Engage in special projects as directed by Head of GSB.
Help junior GSB bankers in daily transactions as necessary
Undergraduate degree in related field required
5 -7 years of corporate banking experience; marketing experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good credit analysis skills, formal credit training preferred.
Strong interest in and exposure to international banking and multi-cultural environment.
Excellent computer skills – Excel, Power Point, Database management
Foreign language skills are preferred.
