MUFG is in the midst of an overall Transformation effort . Specifically, the Technology organization is undertaking a significant modernization effort with a goal to implement a scalable, secure, compliant, and efficient technology platform for the Americas.

The Transformation effort will enable that by creating the foundation for growth, innovation, and a superior customer experience. This will position our Technology organization to deliver on the strategic objectives of the firm and in the process, work with our lines of business to achieve shared goals. Doing so at a rapid pace will be critical to our success.
The Director, HR Business Partner, reporting to the Managing Director, HR Business Partner Integrated Services, will fulfill a critical role as a partner to MUFG’s Tech Strategy & Incubation and Enterprise Architecture & Technology Infrastructure teams driving the aforementioned transformation.
This role will be responsible for developing and implementing the business line’s HR strategy and providing professional HR guidance and support. This role requires a high level of business knowledge and sophistication, understanding of complex business and technology strategies, and the ability to manage a high demand for services. The HR Business Partner will possess the ability to interface at all levels especially with senior leaders and ex-patriates to influence, drive for results and manage the day to day function.
Contribute to the business and technology strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes
Support line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the function/business strategy
Facilitate long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda
Help the technology leader to provide employees with development opportunities, and ensure that they are able to meet current and future performance standards
Develop and promote feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes
Understand employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns
Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve HR policies and initiatives
Identify and drive the communication and sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement
Act as a liaison between the line and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs
Maintain a knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends
Ensure that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization
Manage specific projects as required, and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives
Participate in projects of medium to large size and complexity and/or with cross-functional or company-wide impact
Previous experience supporting a technology shop; preferably one utilizing modern technology tools and methods.
Financial Services experience highly preferred
Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and technology and business strategy
Ability to develop and execute clear, actionable steps in support of an overall transformation strategy
Ability to identify new ways for HR to support technology, staying abreast of industry best practices.
Ability to engage, inspire and influence people
Effective team player
Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Significant knowledge of HR policies and processes
Ability to identify employee relations issues for resolution by appropriate Employee Relations team members
This position typically requires:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related combination of education and experience
Seven to ten years HR experience
Project management experience involving concept development through implementation and measurement stages
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel (including pivot tables) and HRIS
Comfortable working with complex systems and learning new processes
