The Americas Legal Department is looking for a paralegal to primarily support the MUFG Supply Chain Finance group, and other Transaction groups, to ensure compliance with Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 (“UCC”) requirements. The ideal candidate will have substantial UCC experience with in-house experience at a financial institution a significant positive.
Preparing and reviewing the content of all UCC Financing Statements for the MUFG Supply Chain Finance and other Transaction groups to ensure compliance with Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 requirements.
Checking accuracy and timeliness of UCC financing statements.
Creating and maintaining UCC review forms and tools such as the UCC Master Review Form, the UCC Lien Summary Review Form, and others.
Composing UCC financing reviews to highlight findings of each, and distribute the results to applicable parties within the Bank.
Interacting with business groups, attorneys, vendors, and other staff to monitor UCC financing statements throughout the filing process.
Answering business line questions and providing training for issues related to the UCC.
Coordinating with attorneys to produce training materials.
Composing UCC Lien Summary Reviews to highlight potential secured party conflicts and distributing the results to applicable parties within the Bank.
Monitoring Vendor Performance.
Developing methods and materials for creating UCCs.
Staying current on changes in UCC laws and administrative rules and consult with attorneys.
Determining and implementing processes to improve workflow efficiencies.
Other Research/Educational Projects as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
3 years of experience.
Intimate familiarity with Uniform Commercial Code Revised Article 9.
Strong communication skills: both oral and written.
Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills and be able to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
Have demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
Be able to work under pressure and meet the needs of the Bank while under deadlines with shifting needs and priorities.
Have strong attention to detail.
Have the ability to handle multiple projects.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Be a self-starter with an ability to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment.
