Summary:

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for assisting with the structuring and execution of structured trade products within Commodity & Structured Trade Finance (CSTF). This involves assisting in the origination of new business opportunities, preparing sales and pitch materials, preparing internal deal screening memos and detailed product structure memos to support the approval of transactions within established underwriting guidelines and return parameters. The Portfolio Manager is also responsible for managing and monitoring the disbursements and utilizations of credit facilities and for monitoring compliance with approved conditions and financial covenant requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting and structure trade finance opportunities such as supply chain, structured prepayment finance, and traditional trade.

  • Deliver efficient and timely execution of the underwriting process for transactions, including coordination of credit applications

  • Provide timely execution of internal deal approvals including Deal Screening presentations, transaction structure memos.

  • Involvement with negotiation and review of legal documentation and oversight of facility closing.

  • Portfolio monitoring, ensuring facilities are in compliance with covenants.

  • Gathering of market intelligence information and market research.

  • Support origination and development of new products/clients through market research.

  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

The right candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in finance and economics.

  • Solid credit and analytical background, including at least 1-2 years of experience.

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong financial spreading/modeling skills required.

  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Access and Excel.

  • Able to work independently and under pressure.

  • Proactive attitude, flexible, critical thinker.
