Job Overview:
This position is a Software Engineer role, joining a current team, that is responsible for creating and maintaining reports for use with Senior Management meetings and Executive Committee of the Americas. The ideal candidate should have a combination of technical skills and creativity to create a report story board with minimal business requirements. The candidate should also be able to perform standard production support and maintenance for the various reports that have been created for the business units. The candidate should be able to build and support small scripts built in Python as well as automation code using Power Automate and Power BI.
Responsibilities:
Ability to take on work assignments with little direction, create/socialize a plan, and drive to completion autonomously, knowing when to engage for feedback/guidance
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and an ability to interact with all levels of management
Strong skills in data analysis and a solid understanding of business and financial markets
Solid project management skills with exposure to technology
Ability to analyze employee survey responses, identify and project signs of changing risk levels
Demonstrated track record of delivering positive results and working within time and budgetary constraints
Ingesting, arranging, and/or illustrating data, testing for accuracy, and publishing reports to support internal compliance, audit or stakeholder requirements
Proactive approach to work with ability to anticipate needs
Collaborates with other business functions and divisions to advance business objectives
Aptitude to prioritize and analyze a list of measurable product or service characteristics along with associated target values
Identify and raise awareness of any risks, issues and/or observations that may result in vulnerability or failed process observed on our day-to-day operations.
Ability to learn and adopt new skills and new technologies that are required by the job.
Consistently challenge the status quo and ask questions.
Innovative and must show consistent ability to think outside of the box
Required Skills:
Minimum 5 years of software development experience
3+ years of solid and actual development experience using Microsoft Power Automate or Microsoft Low Code Platform such as Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI for reporting
Must have the ability to construct and create optimal SQL Queries
Must be proficient in creating Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) using Power BI
Knowledge of any one of the following programming languages, Python, .Net, Java, C/C++ etc.
Special consideration if the candidate has knowledge and expertise on any of the following, Risk and Control Self-Identified Assessment (RCSA), Risk Management, Financial Management, Continuous Control Testing, Tableau Reporting, ETL, CI/CD Tools, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Clean Code.
Build, create and publish reports using Power BI with the highest quality of work.
Must be able to create and debug Python scripts used for data sourcing, cleansing and enrichment
Must be able to support previously built applications and ability to analyze, design, build, and develop new applications based on business requirements and product specifications.
Test, Debug, Deploy and document code, process, and procedures to ensure compliance and completeness of work.
Proven ability to reach an audience through effective and clear presentations, writing skills and excellent communication strategies
Implements effective training programs that align with the organization's goals and objectives and facilitate reviews with stakeholders.
Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders to define requirements and provide options for data presentation
Identifies multiple paths to success using analytical and critical thinking as well as decision-making skills
Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically
High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
Education:
Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science or information technology related fields.
Other Qualifications:
- As per MUFG’s work policy, must work onsite 4 days and 1 day remotely out of our 210 Hudson Street Jersey City, NJ office.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $102K - $135K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
