Job Summary:

Looking for someone with experienced in Snowflake Technology, Python.

  • Snowflake technology experience or Certification in Snowflake is a MUST, or

  • Python experience with Snowflake Certification

The successful candidate’s primary role as part of the BI TEC team will be to support a new multi-million dollar infrastructure which spans multiple regions (NY, LON & Asia). The infrastructure uses a combination of technologies including Snowflake, Python, MS SQL Server and Oracle database. Candidate would help in migrating/rewriting pl/sql code to Snowflake.

The candidate will work closely with various development teams and Business managers to enhance the data warehouse and reporting elements of the platform. Must have worked on Snowflake and used Python to some extent. Good technical knowledge of the SQL Server stack with strong core PL/SQL along with a solid understanding of data warehousing design principles. SSIS skills are desired but not essential. The candidate would be on Production support and have to manage control M batch and fix issues that might occur.

The role would suit a candidate with at least 5 years’ experience of working within capital market domain.

Previous experience working within Risk, Finance or Product Control areas is desirable although a strong track record of comparable experience on large scale data warehousing implementations is also acceptable.

Responsibilities:

•Define solutions paying particular attention to ensuring technical requirements have been factored in

•Work with the overnight batch processes using scheduling software, Control-M

•Work with wider Technology teams to ensure development and testing is coordinated and best practices are followed

•Help define test cases and work closely with users assisting them with testing bug fixes or new features and functions

•Collaborate with end users and help with BAU

•Develop efficient ELT routines using Snowflake.

•Need to understand Oracle PL/SQL to migrate to Snowflake

•Report to the Technology team lead and keep management abreast of status and progress on in-flight issues

•Ensure due diligence has been carried out on all software changes, paying particular attention to detail on unit, component and systems integration testing

•Package up artefacts using industry standard tools such as Subversion, SDA & TeamCity

•Work with BAU teams to ensure project changes are released to live in a coordinated manner

•Comply with the standard release cycle and deployment controls

•Understanding of products related to Securities trading / Capital Markets.

•Support requirements and design of future reporting needs (regulatory and internal).

•Will be responsible for production support.

•Must adhere to all internal IT policies and controls while handling sensitive financial production data

Skills & Experience:

•Solid Snowflake and Python Skills

  • Snowflake Technology experience, or

  • Python experience with Snowflake Certification

•Solid SQL Server Development skills with version 2019 or later

•Oracle Development skills with 11g or later

•Experience of writing ETL Packages using SSIS is desired but not mandatory

•Data Warehousing Design Experience and Kimball Methodologies

•Experience of working within a large database development project team

•Hands on Snowflake experience on live projects is a must

•Preferred candidate would have Snowflake Certification.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $110K - $135K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
