Responsible for analyzing complex credit requests and providing oversight and guidance to underwriting staff across multiple product lines. This position may directly supervise underwriters and other support staff. Supervision may include interviewing, hiring and terminating staff; recommending salary changes, job promotions; setting work hours, conducting counseling/performance reviews, and planning of the staff's work.
Analyze and approve complex credit requests, make exception determinations and submit recommendations for exceptions or other transactions exceeding assigned lending limits.
Assist other employees in interpreting Bank and regulatory policies and guidelines.
Analyze policies and procedures and make recommendations for enhancements.
Provide training and coaching to underwriting staff and other support personnel
This position requires at least 10 years of experience in consumer / mortgage underwriting with at least 5 years management experience. The position requires thorough knowledge of consumer lending including portfolio mortgage lending, Agency and Government guidelines.
