In this TERM Controller's & Tax Services, VP role you will be responsible for supporting month end close and financial reporting for various products and lines of business across the bank. The Vice President will report to the Business Unit Controller, within the Controllers & Tax Services group. CTS reports to the CFO.

This role will develop and execute on higher risk accounting processes across the institution. You will work in a dynamic environment, represent CTS in your interactions with various groups bank-wide. This role will also allow you the ability to develop a team culture and a collaborative working environment.

You will adeptly partner with internal (business lines, senior leadership, internal audit, etc.) and external (auditors, regulators, vendors, prospective employees) stakeholders, gain leadership experience and help develop staff so that they are able to act when requirements are ambiguous or evolving.

Major Responsibilities

  • Review and approve financial reporting requests, journal entries for accruals and prepayments, month-end general ledger reconciliations and collaborate with operations teams to continuously enhance process

  • Participate in month-end close process

  • Provide on-going advice on accounting issues to all levels and areas of the Bank

  • Respond to internal and external inquiries

  • Support control framework to mitigate risks

  • You bring a positive, collaborative attitude, in order to:

  • Communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with various levels of management

  • Seek opportunities to improve processes and the control framework

  • Demonstrate an ownership mentality by being responsible and accountable for the quality and timeliness of assigned deliverables and processes


  • Education: Accounting or Finance degree (BA, BS, and/or Masters)

  • CPAs (or CPA-eligible) preferred, but not required

  • 5-7 years experience in financial services and/or accounting-related roles

  • Prior supervision or managerial experience preferred

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

The typical base pay range for this role is between $90,000 – $136,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
