The Executive Compensation Manager provides leadership in the philosophy, strategy, design and implementation of MUFG Americas compensation plans and programs. The position will oversee and ensure that executive compensation policies and guidelines are implemented and sustained to support business objectives. The Executive Compensation Manager will work closely with HR leadership and other enterprise business partners to collaborate and manage compensation initiatives and governance. The role also will support the Head of Total Rewards in managing aspects of Senior Management and Board Committee meetings and materials.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, develop, implement and support MUFG Americas’ comprehensive executive compensation program, ensuring alignment with each business’ objectives, overall organizational culture, market conditions, internal equity and long term vision.

  • Partner with the broader HR and Compensation team to develop and implement key executive compensation initiatives, and drive effective governance.

  • Develop Board and Management Committee materials, by working collaboratively throughout MUFG in the Americas and globally.

  • Oversee executive governance and develop key materials locally and in collaboration with home office.

  • Partner with Company Secretary to coordinate Board Committee meetings, and logistics.

  • Manage key short and long-term executive compensation programs.

  • Lead the HR aspects of key business initiatives supporting M&A strategy, working in collaboration with the broader Total Rewards, HR, Business, Finance, Legal and Strategy teams.

  • Partner with executive recruitment to develop and govern key executive compensation packages.

  • Provide support/management of special projects, as requested by the Head of Total Rewads.



  • Demonstrated experience working in a compensation function, and developing key Committee materials and governance documents

  • Working knowledge of key executive compensation regulations applicable to financial services/banking in the U.S.

  • Ability to design and develop short-term and long-term incentive plans

  • Must demonstrate strong accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong financial acumen and analytical approach

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while prioritizing and meeting tight deadlines

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information

  • Expert with key systems and technology

  • Senior Management Committee support experience is a plus
