Job Summary:

The Operations Initiatives Manager will be responsible for managing operational initiatives from initiation to implementation for the line of business within Payment Operations. Initiatives will include process improvement, service or efficiency initiatives, new product or system introductions, and other duties as assigned. The assigned initiatives are generally highly complex, including but not limited to, process improvement, service or efficiency initiatives, new product or system introductions, and have a significant impact to the bank's revenue.

The manager is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers and is responsible for leading and actively identifying, developing, and implementing creative solutions and processes to enhance workflows, metrics, and the overall delivery capabilities of the department/ division. Organize and lead multiple operations initiatives teams, work with and direct vendors (as applicable). Requires in-depth operational and business line knowledge.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans/Leads/Manages multiple business unit operational initiatives from initiation to implementation.

  • Articulates highly complex line of business needs/requirements including possible solutions at all levels within the organization and engages necessary buy in and resources.

  • Responsible for ensuring the development of procedures, workflows, communications, and training activities related to the implementation of change initiatives.

  • Partners with business unit managers to completely understand the strategic direction and needs of the unit as well as the current processes to identify, recommend, and develop process improvements.

  • Leads the effort to design and implement innovative and creative solutions based on business needs resulting in improved efficiencies. Delivers assigned initiatives on time, on budget, and within scope.

  • Provides regular status updates including reporting obstacles or variances that cannot be resolved that would impede the delivery of the initiative on time and within budget.

  • Participates in long-range business planning for the business unit to visualize and interpret the needs and process changes necessary to meet any current and future objectives. Identifies appropriate resources to assess risks, controls, and regulatory compliance issues.

  • Develop/review of business requirements, project plans, and timelines as appropriate.

  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to coordinate and direct activities of others.

  • Keeps abreast of new technologies and applications and their implications for assigned area.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Experienced in financial services Payment Operations and its regulations / laws.

  • Understanding of control and risk management concepts and knowledge of the operational aspects of the information risk business.
