Job Summary:

As a member of the Americas HRIS team, the Workday System Administrator is responsible for configuration and support of the HCM system, Workday. Responsible for day-to-day maintenance, management and projects as assigned related to the Workday platform. This includes; requirements, solutions design, configuration, testing and troubleshooting. This role serves as a subject matter expert corresponding with regional counterparts in support of a global platform following a defined global governance and shared services operating model. As part of a team composed of global and local HRIS managers, IT and HR function stakeholders this role will help guide, lead and design system and business process enhancements. The Workday System Administrator will be called upon to manage build efforts as assigned and deliver effective solutions utilizing the Agile methodology with commitment to productive partner relationships balancing end user experience and stakeholder requirements with alignment at a global level.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide system administration to the Workday system as needed and assigned based on global governance work intake process

  • Acts as an internal consultant regarding system capabilities, providing recommendations through effective communications to business leaders and other stakeholders

  • Ability to configure Business Process, Core HCM and Security functional areas within the Workday system

  • Conduct unit testing and provide production support on an ongoing basis

  • Act as a functional point of contact between other functional departments and IT/HR leaders to gather requirements on new configuration and triage production breaks

  • Conduct analysis of current process within Workday and recommendations for enhancement

  • Aligns with global and local participants in strategic planning and analysis and development of business requirements for HRIS modifications and enhancements

  • Ability to configure Business Process, Core HCM and Security functional areas within the Workday system

  • Utilize a ticket system to respond to escalated tier two support requests

  • Collaborate with global HRIS partners to develop solutions for Workday enhancements and fixes that meet regional and global needs for a balanced platform.

  • Collaborate with HR Communications teams to develop user procedures, guidelines, and documentation to support change management.

  • Maintain awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product development, delivery, and support.

  • Provide direction, mentoring and guidance to other team members for areas of Workday expertise

  • Proactively utilizes and suggests technology to lower cost, increase efficiencies, accuracy and value adding end user and client satisfaction of the company's HR systems

  • Updates and maintains system documentation and responds to audit requests as needed



  • 3 years of experience in the implementation, development, and support of Human Resources systems

  • 2 years of experience as a Workday system administrator responsible for configuration, testing and support of Workday

  • 2 years in providing Tier 2 support

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, HR, or a related field

  • SME knowledge of HR business processes; ability to document processes and generate clear and understandable business requirements for non-technical audiences and stakeholder sign off

  • Ability to identify and articulate options to stakeholders and influence decisions based on facts and analysis

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytic skills; ability to organize and represent concepts in presentations

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized with the ability to prioritize independently while demonstrating a sense of urgency

  • Customer focused individual who must be able to effectively work in a fast paced & fluid environment with competing priority and effective collaboration across teams

  • Participation in at least one full life cycle of Workday implementation

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and concurrently meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of Workday Core HCM, Business Process, Security and Recruitment concepts and configuration

  • Able to handle confidential information

  • Excellent analytical skills
