We are seeking a HR Division Risk Manager (DRM) to work remotely. The DRM will report to the HR Business Unit Risk Manager and will be responsible for supporting and coordinating assigned aspects of MUFG’s operational risk management framework within Human Resources. This work may include covering business process-specific risks related to Employee Talent Management lifecycle including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Development, Employee Onboarding/Offboarding, as well as enterprise-wide risks such as information security, third party risk management, business continuity, fraud, compliance, and model risk. The DRM will assist the BURM, other DRMs, and business management with Risk and Control Self Assessments, control testing activities, metrics reporting, and other assigned projects.
Major Responsibilities :
45% - Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and Control Testing: Build, maintain, and refresh RCSAs for significant business processes, including development of process flows, risk and control analysis. Perform testing activities for controls identified in the RCSAs, including establishing test plan, performing tests, and reporting results. Keep the BURM and other DRMs appraised of potential changes in inherent risk or control breakdowns/deficiencies that could impact residual risk. Act as a trusted advisor on operational risk issues, including risk identification associated with business unit projects, ongoing business processes, and emerging risks.
15% - Issue Management: Assist HR BURM on issue management process including maintaining monthly status updates, assisting HR business functions on developing and tracking remediation plans, validation of issues prior to closure. Keep apprised of ongoing audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance controls tests and their resulting findings. Support business unit management in the discussion and assessment of potential risk issues and remediation of issues.
15% - Key Risk Metrics: Help business unit management to identify and develop key risk metrics (KRMs). Track and monitor KRMs including actions taken when metrics are outside of tolerance levels.
10% - Enterprise-wide Risks: Work with risk partners having oversight over enterprise-wide risks (third party risk management, product risk, business continuity planning, etc.) to ensure policies and procedures responsible to the first line are followed by the HR business groups. Participate in projects and ad hoc working groups to address and resolve new areas of risk.
10% - Reporting: Provide accurate, timely and objective operational risk reporting to the BURM, business unit management, and ORMD on the business unit operational risk profile.
5 % - Internal/External Loss Events: Work on operational loss events specifically, determining associated risks, root cause analysis where applicable.
The DRM must possess a strong understanding of operational risk management techniques and it is preferred to have experience in HR, specifically in functions such as Human Capital Risk, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, or Employee Relations.
Bachelor’s degree or greater
6+ years of experience in (i) operations management; (ii) operational and/or compliance risk management; and/or (iii) audit experience in financial services or within a HR organization
Ability to analyze risk trends, identifying signs of changing risk levels and/or symptoms of process control breakdowns and areas of emerging risk for the business unit
In-depth knowledge of and experience with internal audit and regulatory examination processes
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to interact with all levels of management, including executive management and external regulatory agencies.
Strong personal workflow coordination and organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to multi-task and meet aggressive targets in a fast-paced environment
Strong Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with SharePoint; Experience with Open Pages or other governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) management system
An approachable and professional demeanor, with ability to listen and understand the needs of the regulators and the business
