Job Summary:

In this role serves as the technical subject matter expert in ServiceNow discovery, Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and service mapping; will leverage technical expertise with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes, ServiceNow Common Services Data Model (CSDM), ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) Visibility products to effectively support configuration management process and configuration management database (CMDB).

Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure discovery and service mapping; planning, designing, and architecting the CMDB; managing configuration items (CIs) including identification, registration and control, mapping, status accounting, reporting and verification to ensure completeness and accuracy of CMDB data; and operating and enhancing the CMDB, including implementation of new integrations and automated workflows.

  • Primary responsibility is to design, implement, support and mature ServiceNow discovery, CMDB and service mapping

  • Work with process owners to engineer holistic solution

  • Provide operational support of ServiceNow platform

  • Design, implement and support 3rd party integrations with ServiceNow CMDB

  • Implement and support out of box and custom patterns to discover onpremise and cloud infrastructure

  • Implement and support catalog and workflow to orchestrate configuration management processes and enable automation

  • Support and enhance CMDB SQL Server datamart and associated integrations

  • Work collaboratively across business and technology services organization to evolve and mature CMDB

  • Support the overall ITSM vision and work with other process managers to deliver consistent and predictable service management


  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, information technology, or any engineering field, or equivalent experience

  • ITIL Practitioner or ITIL Service Manager level qualification a plus

  • Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT) framework practitioner or certification a plus

  • 5-6 years of demonstrated technical experience with design, implementation and support of ServiceNow discovery, CMDB and service mapping.

  • 2+ years working within the financial services industry

  • Extensive technical knowledge of the ServiceNow platform specifically IT Service management and IT Operations Management Visibility

  • ServiceNow administraiton including discovery and service mapping

  • Scripting using JavaScript, Groovy, PowerShell, Bash, RegEx, SQL, etc

  • Ability to design and implement integrations using ServiceNow IntegrationHub and custom intergration using REST API etc. to enrich CMDB

  • Hands-on experience with discovery of AWS and Azure cloud resources.

  • Ability to perform ServiceNow platform development using ServiceNow APIs, ServiceNow Workflows, UI Pages, UI Macros, Business Scripts, Client Scripts, UI Scripts, UI Actions, UI Policies, Script Includes and Security Rules.

  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server development to support datamart and associated integrations

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and troubleshoot the configuration management environment
