Job Summary

The Business Development manager will report to the Managing Director, Diverse Markets Manager; will be responsible for development and execution of targeted market strategies to increase sales production and market share for Community Lending, with an emphasis on the First Time Home Buyer, Low-to Moderate-Income (LMI) and Multicultural customer segments.

Major Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for creating and identifying viable business opportunities.

  • Also responsible for enhancing sales capabilities by strategically aligning referral partners (real estate professionals, brokers, trade organizations and affinity groups) to profitably grow the mortgage business in alignment with the Community Lending business objectives.

  • This includes diversity recruiting, achieving LMI / MC goals, driving partner effectiveness (both external and internal) and increasing brand awareness in the marketplace.

  • Other responsibilities may include gathering market intelligence, conducting performance gap analyses, and making recommendations for program enhancements.

This will be a remote position but candidate must sit within Southern California in either the Los Angeles or San Diego markets


  • Bachelor's degree with 5 — 10 years mortgage banking sales management experience with direct experience working with the private, public and nonprofit sectors.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the mortgage lending process including underwriting, product development, pricing and compliance related issues.

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to develop, implement and execute strategic business plans and proven ability to manage through influence and drive accountability.

  • Strong sales and sales presentation skills.

  • Ability to lead change and influence business direction in a fast-paced environment, establish priorities and achieve results.
