This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office an average of two to three days per week with the remainder worked remotely.

Job Summary and Major Responsibilities:


  • Working with outside legal counsel on all aspects of loan closing including the creation and management of a closing documentation checklist

  • Work with internal KYC team to help coordinate and track the customer due diligence process

  • Coordinate with counterparts at other lending institutions to complete customer and collateral due diligence as part of syndicated transactions

  • Procure and review due diligence materials such as organizational documents, good standing certificates, UCC and related lien searches, title insurance, ALTA surveys, insurance certificates, leases, flood and environmental reviews, mortgages, appraisals and other property-related collateral documentation

  • Help prepare escrow instructions and coordinate signatures, notarizations, and document delivery

  • May assist order and assess flood determinations in compliance with bank flood compliance policies and FEMA national flood insurance

  • Work with outside counsel to prepare a closing settlement statement with all necessary wiring instructions


  • Working with external and internal resources to resolve and clear post-closing documentation exceptions

  • Work with counsel to prepare payoff documentation and lien releases

  • Review and process any invoices not paid in the closing settlement statement

  • Organize and help maintain master collateral lists

  • Maintain compliance with insurance maintenance required by policy Working with lending teams on any documentation requirements for ongoing account maintenance, and any documentation amendments

  • Work with internal systems that track borrower financial and covenant compliance reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness

  • Work with borrowers to ensure borrowing, repayment and invoicing needs are satisfied

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5+ years of commercial loan closing & administration and monitoring experience

  • Experience with commercial loan documentation review and preparation is preferred


  • Analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment to meet customer-driven deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment both within the business line and across the organization

  • Ability to work with a variety of computer systems and software including standard tools like Microsoft Office as well as customized data management systems

  • Paralegal experience and/or experience with real estate and contract law encouraged Familiarity with banking regulatory requirements such as KYC diligence and FEMA NFIP guidelines
