Job Summary The Business Unit Risk & Controls Analyst provides high level first line function in the identification, assessment, monitoring, and management of risk. This role conducts in depth technical risk-based research and analysis to provide management with definitive risk data and advice. Major Responsibilities: + Provides support and guidance in the execution and delivery of information risk management initiatives for assigned business lines. + Administers processes to ensure controls related to information risk management are sound and effective. + May assist and oversee implementing these controls, including process review, issue identification, metrics, reporting and process improvement. + Performs risk analysis and assessment for assigned processes and business lines, follow-ups on unusual activity and exception items as prescribed by second line defense / management team. + Coordinates with second line defense in reducing the likelihood of reputational and regulatory impacts due to non-compliance to the company’s Risk Management’s Policies and Standards, including local procedures specific to risk management. + Supports any required artifacts resulting from internal audits and regulatory exams. + Assist in the creation of action plans to address identified control breaches/ deficiencies, performing root cause analysis and assisting in the implementation of routines to track, monitor and report issues in compliance with the new end-to-end issue management process for effective and timely execution of remediation plans. + May assist driving the executive of large scale projects requiring collaboration with other stakeholders to develop and implement consensual decisions. + May function as Subject Matter Expert to quantify information risk within the line of business systems. + May guide, train and develop a small staff of risk professionals or act as team lead, if assigned. + Fosters a risk-aware culture and mindset among employees, contractors, and service providers. Qualifications + Clear understanding of control and risk management concepts. + Working knowledge and understanding of security systems and applications. + Basic knowledge of supported business line preferred. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills with capability to assist with enforcing and communicating related policies, procedures, and guidelines. + Capability to assist driving the executive of large scale projects requiring collaboration with other stakeholders to develop and implement consensual decisions. + Good analytical and problem solving skills, with aptitude to develop solutions to eliminate or mitigate risk. + Aptitude to acquire subject matter expertise to quantify information risk within the line of business systems. + Well organized with excellent attention to detail, solutions oriented. + General technical knowledge and PC skills. + Typically requires 5 years of technical experience and 2-3 years of supervisory experience, if applicable. + BA or BS Degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred. + Professional certifications, preferred.
