Job Summary

Quantitative Risk Control (QRC) is responsible for the management of enterprise-wide End User Computing (EUC) and Model risks associated with the Bank's development, deployment, and maintenance of quantitative processes. In order to manage these risks, we have developed and implemented a comprehensive framework across three lines of defense. As the second line of defense, we establish and maintains the EUC and Model risk management framework, including the independent validation/testing of all EUCs and Models, and management of associated risks in the aggregate at the enterprise level.

As the EUC Control Testing Manager you will pay a key role in QRC and report directly to the Head of End User Computing (EUC) Control Testing. You will manage QRC’s EUC control testing related activities to support the EUC Risk Management Program. You are a strong risk manager with solid risk management skills and experience in at least one of the following areas: Spreadsheet Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, SOX, or Regulatory Bank Supervision. You will organize and plan EUC Risk Management related activities and work with an offshore control testing team.

Major Responsibilities

  • You will conduct independent second line testing on controls established by EUC Owners, and document results in an organized and clear manner

  • You will perform quality control reviews on independent second line EUC testing results produced by offshore testing resources

  • You will continually improve and execute a process to efficiently conduct EUC testing activities which includes the following responsibilities:

  • Inform EUC Owners of requirements and testing logistical information,

  • Gather EUC Owner documentation and provide to offshore EUC testing resources,

  • Communicate findings identified through the testing process and address related EUC Owner inquiries.

  • Establish communication routines with offshore EUC testing resources to ensure potential testing delays/challenges are identified in a timely manner

  • Serve as a primary Second Line of Defense EUC risk management liaison with First Line partners to ensure the EUC Risk Management Program is consistently applied.

  • Perform EUC tool classification and inherent risk rating assessments.

  • Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify problems and to clarify management objectives.

  • Review EUC Owner issue remediation and related materials to determine if they are adequate to close the issue.

  • Support the ongoing evolution of the EUC Risk Management Program

  • Respond to partner and audit inquiries related to the EUC Policy, Procedures, and other EUC Risk Management Program areas.

  • Support Head of EUC Control Testing on presentation materials related to senior management reporting, management issue or internal team reporting.

Qualifications

You have an uncompromising desire to succeed and make a difference wherever your professional and personal path takes you . A Bachelor's degree, and 5+ years of hands on experience working within a leading financial services organization (e.g., commercial bank, investment bank, asset manager etc.) or consulting firm (e.g., KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PWC etc.) will be a key component of your past successes. Other key qualifications:

  • You excel in a dynamic, challenging work environment, and have a strong desire to learn new things

  • You possess excellent communications skills, both oral and written

  • You bring superb interpersonal skills, and experience as a service provider who brings value to the business

  • You have prior experience in EUC control testing, Sarbanes Oxley/audit testing and/or EUC Governance

  • You have advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and proficient with use of Structured query language (SQL)

  • You’re proficient with compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

  • You're proficient with the use of EUC compliance and control systems (e.g., Cimcon, Incisive, ClusterSeven) is desirable

  • Industry certifications a plus (e.g., CFA, FRM)

  • Knowledge about Model Risk and associated regulatory requirements such as OCC 2011-12/ SR11-7 is desirable
