About the role:
In this role, you'll be part of a dynamic Bank Guarantee team, processing Bank Guarantee products within our Transactional Banking Operations team. You'll also provide key support to the Bank Guarantee Operations Head.
What you’ll be doing:
Prepare, issue, maintain and cancel standard, non-standard and counter Bank Guarantees and any associated fees
Perform all controls to ensure guarantees are issued in accordance with internal group policy, guarantees checklists, local branch SOP, credit risk authorisations, special requirements and agreed customer conditions
Provide subject matter expertise support to Product and Transactional Banking Coverage teams in the development of tailored solutioning for key customers
Ensure Bank Guarantee fee invoicing and collections are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes, and that critical checklists are followed
Input data for issuances, amendments and cancellations in the bank’s guarantee core system
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members
Build and maintain good working relations and open communication lines with both internal and external stakeholders, and provide a high level of service and professionalism
Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to building more effective processes and embrace changes to eliminate the possibility of errors
Prepare monthly reporting
Report and escalate operational risk events
Provide support to Corporate Loans and Trade Operations team when needed
What we are looking for:
As the successful candidate, you will have 4+ years’ experience in a banking operations Bank Guarantee role, as well as strong experience in the processing of Trade Operations and an ability to adapt between both departments as business needs demand. You'll also have a good understanding of AML/CTF and Trade Based ML risk management.
You'll have demonstrated ability to solve complex issues and appropriately manage key customer outcomes, and strong decision-making capability and willingness to apply independent discretion as required and within the bank's policy. Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential, as are excellent written and communication skills and a high-level standard of customer service.
