About the role:

The purpose of your role is to provide the full spectrum of HR advice and services to branch business units in the Oceania region including the Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Auckland and future branches or offices.

You will provide performance consulting and HR advisory services to multiple business client groups. Contributing to and driving regional and/or local Human Resource (HR) initiatives as well as processes into Oceania. HR initiatives include but are not limited to attraction, selection, engagement and development, in order to align to the Bank’s direction/vision. You will be responsible for providing sound HR advice to the Branch to support decision making on complex HR issues including but not limited to workforce planning, organisational design, recruitment, learning & development, employment relations, performance management, reward & recognition, talent & succession management, termination of employment, and organizational change.

This role is functionally dual-hatted as the HRBP for MUFG Securities Asia within the Oceania region, reporting to the Head of HRBP MUS Asia.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support and contribute to the development of Oceania’s People Strategy and HR Functional Strategy

  • Plan, develop, track and/or monitor the delivery of priorities, solutions, projects, plans or initiatives in line with the People and/or HR Strategy

  • Lead, design, contribute to and/or support the development and implementation of departmental People Strategy for business partner departments/ business lines

  • Contribute to delivering to / or below budget forecast through cost-effective and efficient delivery of HR services and processes

  • Explore and/or deliver cost-effective HR related methodologies, solutions, and initiatives

  • Contribute to the management of cost efficient delivery of HR expenses and employee related costs

  • You will contribute with guidance and advice on areas such as, Recruitment, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Reward & Remuneration, Employment Relations, Strategy & Projects and Advice, Consulting & Support

  • Lead, guide, support, coach and mentor HR Business Partner/s on complex HR issues

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and consultation as a leader and team player within Human Resources

  • Act as a role model and ambassador and adhere to all company policies / guidelines. • Where/when relevant, manage (objective setting & performance management), develop (coaching, career progression & training), recognise & reward (financial and non-financial reward decisions), align and engage any direct reports through continuous effective communication and feedback

What we are looking for:

  • 10+ years’ experience in as an HR Manager HR Business Partner Human Resources preferably from the Banking and Finance Industry

  • Previous experience working in a global and/or matrix organisation (Highly desirable)

  • Undergraduate qualification in Business/Commerce or Human Resources

  • Extensive business partnering, performance consulting and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments

  • Strong employment relations / industrial relations knowledge & experience including Good knowledge of HR processes, practices and local employment laws

  • Understanding of all HR disciplines including but not limited to Recruitment, Employment Relations, HR Generalist, Rewards, Organisational Development and Training

  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence others and promote HR solutions

  • Coaching, mentoring, leadership and teamwork skills

  • Good learning & development knowledge , strong facilitation and presentation skills
