About the role:
The Leveraged and Acquisition Finance team at MUFG is looking for a highly motivated, team player with strong corporate finance skills to support the growing pipeline of M&A activity across both Private Equity sponsor clients and Corporates. The individuals will be based in Sydney and will cover the client base for Australia and New Zealand.
What you’ll be doing:
Support the origination, structuring and execution of acquisition and event-driven financings across a broad spectrum of transaction structures including; leveraged buy-outs, corporate acquisitions and any other event-driven finance activity
Support the relationship management and coverage of Private Equity firms and corporate clients, which may involve the preparation of marketing materials and development of deal opportunities
Undertake credit analysis to identify potential investment risks and mitigants to effectively prepare internal credit and underwriting submissions. This also includes detailed financial modelling, scenario analysis and due diligence to assist senior team members as part of deal execution
Preparation of materials (including lender presentation and information memorandums) to assist with the syndication of underwritten transactions
Research, compile industry data and understand market trends and competitive dynamics
Interact with private equity firms, lawyers, accountants, corporate and other industry participants to assess deal opportunities and gather market insights
Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
Other such duties, responsibilities, and authority as may be reasonably required, consistent with your background, experience and prior business activity
What we are looking for:
3+ years’ previous Banking or Leveraged Finance experience desirable
Experience in corporate finance and/or financial advisory
Experience in financial modelling, credit analysis and documentation
Degree qualified - undergraduate or postgraduate in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering or similar degrees
Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting
Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to managing conflicting priorities and requests
Willing to learn about all investment and institutional banking products
Ability to take initiative and function well within a team
Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with ability to create and maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation
Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
Experience with stakeholder management and collaboration with other departments
MS office experience with key capabilities in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
