About the role:

In this Vice President role, you will support the bank in reporting tax-related matters to the external authorities in Australia and New Zealand, including Income Tax, GST, FBT, Transfer Pricing and supporting the wider Accounting/Finance Departments to accurately report the bank’s financial activities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Advisory - provide tax advice to various business units within the organisation and support the Accounting/Finance team by providing guidance on technical issues relating to tax matters.

  • Transfer pricing - transfer pricing compliance, maintain transfer pricing documentation including sample testing, implementation of BEPS Pillar 2 reporting requirement.

  • Governance - conduct tax research, monitor tax legislative changes and impact on the organisation, review tax-related policies.

  • Tax reviews - lead and support ATO/IRD reviews with close collaboration with tax advisers.

  • Tax compliance - review annual tax return.

  • Project management - lead and support tax project.

  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.

The above responsibilities cover both Australia and New Zealand jurisdictions.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a CA/CPA qualified professional with 8+ years’ relevant experience, preferably within financial services or accounting/professional services firms. This role requires extensive knowledge of corporate tax, tax effect accounting, transfer pricing/international tax and indirect tax.

As the successful candidate, you will have strong analytical skills, excellent time management and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. You’ll collaborate and build partnerships, communicate effectively and professionally, drive for results and seek continuous improvement.
