This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.

MUFG’s Corporate Banking Middle Office team services several lines of business within MUFG for the Americas; including Global Corporate and Investment Banking, Japanese Corporate Banking, Securitized Products, Global Markets, and Supply Chain Finance. The team provides end to end Deal Closing coordination, Facility Booking, Credit Control and loan trading support. Services are tailored to meet the needs of the clients and line of businesses including, but not limited to: Closing Coordination, Facility Booking & Funding, Collateral/Document Review/Doc Workflow Management, Trade Coordination & Settlement, and other Credit Control functions.

The Loan Trade Closing Vice President role is broadly responsible for managing a team to provide support to internal and external partners in the Loan Trading closing and settlement processes. The Team works closely with the Trade Desk and Trade Assistants, ensuring controlled and timely settlement of Loan Trades in the secondary market. The team will coordinate with both internal teams and our external service providers for the Product and will act as a primary point of contact for escalation and other inquiries throughout the life cycle of a Trade.

Responsibilities:

  • Seeking a strong leader to manage a multi-functional position supporting Trade Desks for MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities.

  • This role will have 6 to 9 direct reports and will be the primary escalation point for the Desk and other Internal and External teams, with management and oversight of the day to day functions of the Loan Trade Closing team

  • Primary function of the trade support team include; assisting the trading desk and our partners with WSO Loan Services with vital trade issues including: the evaluation of trade events, co-ordination of internal operations processes, providing critical assistance to traders, understanding of corporate actions related to trades, and consistently reviewing trade processes.

  • Daily functions may include:

  • Position monitoring and reporting

  • Oversight for Trade input reconciliation between Trade Systems and ClearPar

  • Manage relationships between the WSO and Settlements Teams and the trading desk to expedite trade escalations.

  • Assist with application upgrades and roll outs of new software, as needed.

  • Interact with the Loan Trading desk, Legal, Sales and other Operations groups in order to develop and deliver solutions for our internal and external clients

  • Operate and understand trading systems to assist with questions on system functionality as well as external trading platforms such as ClearPar & Bloomberg TOMS, as it pertains to the loan trading function

  • Knowledge of Banking Regulations and Standard Practices.

  • Periodically review and attest to the relevant procedures to ensure appropriate control and consistency with Head Office guidelines and bank regulations.

  • Ensures adherence to all bank policies and procedures relative to Regulatory Compliance including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Privacy Act, Regulations Q& X, Customer identification Program, Know Your Customer, Suspicious Activity Reports.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree plus 5-7 years of Syndicated Loan Trading experience, with functional understanding of ClearPar and the requirements for trade life cycle management.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/ operation management and/or commensurate amount of commercial banking experience is preferable.

  • Experience managing a team in a fast paced, flow trading environment, is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Par and Distressed trading within LSTA & LMA standards as well as basic accounting principles.

  • Very strong customer service skills with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong problem solving, research and analytical skills with the ability and willingness to work in a structured, high paced environment, with daily routine operations.

  • Detail-oriented, conscientious and energetic professional with ability to think creatively.

  • Self-driven and highly motivated team player.

  • Ability to operate in a challenging and rapidly changing environment with a desire to accept new assignments and the ability to learn new principles and dynamic systems quickly.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $115K - $135K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
